Bromide hydrogen oxalate salts with the diprotonated 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane counterion
2020
Abstract Two new salts composed of the diprotonated 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) molecule as the cations and bromide and hydrogen oxalate as the anions have been isolated and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. The salt [DABCOH2]{[HC2O4][Br]} (1) crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group P212121 with a = 9.0809(7), b = 9.5156(7), c = 12.3558(9) Å, V = 1067.67(14) Å3 and Z = 4. The salt [DABCOH2]2{[HC2O4][Br]3}·H2O (2) crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group Pnma with a = 26.6554(17), b = 7.3711(4), c = 10.7421(7) Å, V = 2110.6(2) Å3 and Z = 4. The compounds were prepared from ethanolic solutions of [DABCOH2][HC2O4]2 (L 1 ) and ZnBr2 in …
Synthesis and pharmacological evaluation of enantiomerically pure endo-configured KOR agonists with 2-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane scaffold
2021
Conformationally restricted bicyclic KOR agonists 10 with an endo configured amino moiety were synthesized to analyze the bioactive conformation of conformationally flexible KOR agonists such as 2-5. A seven-step, chiral pool synthesis starting with (S)-configured 4-oxopiperidine-2-carboxylate 13 was developed. cis and trans configured diesters 12 were obtained in a 3:1 ratio via hydrogenation of the α,β unsaturated ester 14. After establishment of the bicyclic scaffold, a diastereoselective reductive amination of ketone 11 provided exclusively the endo configured bicyclic amines 10a,b. The 3:1 mixtures of enantiomers were separated by chiral HPLC, respectively, leading to enantiomerically …
Bicyclo[2.2.2]octane-1,4-dicarboxylic acid: towards transparent metal–organic frameworks
2017
The preparation of transparent porous materials can offer a different access towards the study of molecules under solid confined space. Metal-organic frameworks represent a unique opportunity due to their tunable pore size, however aromatic linkers present strong absorption and reduce the transparency. Herein, we report the first example of a MOF with bicyclic organic dicarboxylic linkers and its use as a solid solvent.
Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibria for binary systems composed of octane, decane, and dodecane at 20 kPa
1996
Vapor−liquid equilibria were measured for binary systems of octane + decane, decane + dodecane, and octane + dodecane at 20.00 kPa using a recirculating still. The results are thermodynamically consistent according to the point-to-point consistency test, and deviation from ideal behavior is small for all systems.
Synthesis and characterization of the [Ru(η5-C5Me4CF3)(CO)2]2 and Ru6(μ3-H)(η2-μ4-CO)2(μ-CO)(CO)12(η5-C5Me4CF3) complexes
1998
The reaction of Ru3(CO)12 with tetramethyltrifluoromethylcyclopentadiene at various ratios of the reagents was studied. Refluxing of Ru3(CO)12 with a sixfold excess of tetramethyltrifluoromethylcyclopentadiene in octane in an inert atmosphere gave a complex, which is, according to X-ray diffraction data, a dimer,trans-[Ru(η5-C5Me4CF3)(CO)2]2. The reaction under the same conditions but starting from Ru3(CO)12 and C5Me4CF3H in 2∶1 molar ratio gave a hexaruthenium cluster [Ru6(μ3-H)(η2-μ4-CO)2(μ-CO)(Co)12(η5-C5Me4CF2)], which was characterized by IR as well as1H,13C, and19F NMR spectroscopy. According to X-ray diffraction data, an Ru4 tetrahedron, in which two edges are bound by additional “br…
1989
By endcapping of living polystyrene with ethylene oxide and subsequent reaction with bromoacetyl bromide a polymer with a bromoacetoxy endgroup was obtained. This was used as a macroinitiator for the living cationic polymerization of 1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]octane. The structure and composition of the so formed two-block copolymer was elucidated by different methods. The ratio of the two block and their lengths were varied within broad limits.
Hierarchical halogen bonding induces polymorphism
2009
Co-crystals of 1-iodo-3,5-dinitrobenzene and 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane manifest either two strong or one strong and one weak intermolecular 2 : 1 halogen bond (XB) motifs in polymorphic structures I and II, respectively, whereas weaker XB-donor 4,4-bipyridine just forms 1 : 1 structure III with one strong halogen bond.
1988
The structure of 1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]octane (1) was evaluated by NMR spectroscopy. It was found that the six-membered ring has a chair conformation with the four membered ring in the N-axial and C-6-equatorial position, and as a consequence, the monomer allows neither a ring inversion nor a nitrogen inversion. It possesses two centers of chirality, one at the nitrogen atom and one at C-6. Homopolymerization was carried out in methanol at 60°C with N-alkyl ammonium salts of 1 affording the polymer in high yield within a few hours. Its NMR spectra reveal that the polymer chain is preferably arranged in the biequatorial position of the six-membered ring. As a polybase the polymer can be titrate…

Tissue bioaccumulation patterns, xenobiotic biotransformation and steroid hormone levels in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) fed a diet containing perfl…
2011
In the present study, groups of juvenile Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) were fed gelatine capsules containing fish-food spiked with PFOA or PFOS (0.2 mg kg(-1) fish) and solvent (methanol). The capsules were given at days 0, 3 and 6. Blood, liver and whole kidney samples were collected prior to exposure (no solvent control), and at days 2, 5, 8 and 14 after exposure (Note: that day 14 after exposure is equal to 7d recovery period). We report on the differences in the tissue bioaccumulation patterns of PFOS and PFOA, in addition to tissue and compound differences in modulation pattern of biotransformation enzyme genes. We observed that the level of PFOS and PFOA increased in the blood, liver …
