Inter-individual different responses to continuous and interval training in recreational middle-aged women runners

A crucial subject in sports is identifying the inter-individual variation in response to training, which would allow creating individualized pre-training schedules, improving runner’s performance. Isoprenaline and forskolin increase evoked vasopressin release from rat pituitary

Isolated neurointermediate lobes of rat pituitaries were incubated in Krebs solution. The vasopressin release evoked by electrical stimulation (0.2 ms, 80 V, 15 Hz, 10 s trains at 10 s intervals for a total of 10 min) was completely inhibited by tetrodotoxin. Isoprenaline increased the evoked vasopressin release to a maximum of 60% (EC50 10 nM) and this effect was antagonized surmountably by propranolol. Forskolin increased the vasopressin release by 98%. These results suggest the presence within the neurohypophysis of a beta-adrenoceptor-linked adenylate cyclase facilitating vasopressin secretion.

RATIONALE: Pityriasis rosea Gibert is an erythematous-papulosquamous dermatosis that frequently occurs in young adults. The etiopathogenesis of PR is still unknown, but is frequently associated with episodes of upper respiratory tract infections. It is likely that a new viral trigger of pityriasis rosea is the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Agouti-related peptide-expressing neurons are mandatory for feeding.

Multiple hormones controlling energy homeostasis regulate the expression of neuropeptide Y (NPY) and agouti-related peptide (AgRP) in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus. Nevertheless, inactivation of the genes encoding NPY and/or AgRP has no impact on food intake in mice. Here we demonstrate that induced selective ablation of AgRP-expressing neurons in adult mice results in acute reduction of feeding, demonstrating direct evidence for a critical role of these neurons in the regulation of energy homeostasis.

Parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) is critical for normal mammary development and is overexpressed by breast cancers. PTHrP is a peptide hormone that undergoes extensive post-translational processing, and PTHrP(38–94)-amide is one of the mature secretory forms of the peptide. In this study, we explored the effect of PTHrP(38–94)-amide in a panel of six breast cancer cell lines “in vitro” and in MDA-MB231 cells “in vivo” specifically examining cell viability, proliferation, invasiveness, and growth in nude mice. Enchondroma (EC) is a benign and cartilage-forming tumor that causes intramedullary lesions. Moreover, EC is the most common bone tumor in the phalanges and metacarpal bones of the hand, deforming the structure and causing pain and functional limitation. Mechanism of New Antipsychotic Medications

Antagonism of D 2 -like dopamine receptors is the putative mechanism underlying the antipsychotic efficacy of psychotropic drugs. Positron emission tomographic studies suggest that the antipsychotic effect of dopamine receptor antagonists occurs within a therapeutic window between 60% and 80%(striatal) D 2 receptor occupancy. The incidence of extrapyramidal side effects increases above the 80% threshold. However, the novel atypical antipsychotic drug, aripiprazole, occupies up to 95% of striatal D 2 -like dopamine receptors at clinical doses, and the incidence of extrapyramidal side effects with aripiprazole is no higher than with placebo. Our investigation showed that the concentration of SHBG decreased in healthy girls and boys at increased FIE concentrations. It was therefore the aim of the present study to examine the effects of anabolic steroid oxandrolone in SHBG and FTE concentrations in patients with Turner's syndrome.
