Inhibitoren der Korrosion 25(1) - Über die Rolle der Kationen in Neutralsalzen bei der Korrosion von Eisenwerkstoffen in Gegenwart von Sauerstoff

Die Geschwindigkeit des Sauerstoffverbrauchs bei der Korrosion von jeweils 500 mg DAB6-Eisenpulver wird in Abhangigkeit von der Art des Kations in Neutralsalzen (Chloriden) unter Standardbedingungen bestimmt. In Gegenwart von Alkali-, Quartaren Ammonium, Quartaren Phosphonium-und Erdalkalichloriden ist die Geschwindigkeit des Sauerstoffverbrauches vergleichbar gros. Mit Zink-, Cadmium-, Nickel-und Kobaltchloriden wird aber im Bereich von pH5 bis pH7 eine uberraschend grose Verzogerung der Sauerstoffaufnahme beobachtet. Ammonium adsorption, desorption and recovery by acid and alkaline treated zeolite

In this study, the suitability of zeolite as a possible medium for ammonium adsorption, desorption and recovery from wastewater was investigated. Specifically, batch adsorption and desorption studies with solutions enriched in NH$_4^+$ were conducted employing zeolite to evaluate how the chemical treatment and contact time affect adsorption and desorption. Several experimental tests were carried out considering both untreated and treated zeolite. Untreated and HCl-Na treated zeolite adsorbed up to 11.8 mg NH$_4^+$ g$^{-1}$ and showed the highest efficiency in recovering NH$_4^+$ from aqueous solution. Molybdenum blue: Binding to collagen fibres and microcrystal formation

Collagen fibres have been shown by transmission electron microscopy to progressively bind the polyoxomolybdate ring-complex, termed molybdenum blue. Nucleation of cuboidal molybdenum blue microcrystals occurs on the surface of the collagen fibres, leading eventually to extensive coating of the fibres with microcrystals.

Trace Analysis of Plutonium and Technetium by Resonance Ionization Mass Spectrometry Using an Atomic Beam and a Laser Ion Source

A method for low level detection of plutonium and technetium is described with a detection limit of less than 107 atoms. Plutonium is a very toxic element due to its radioactive decay as well as its chemical behaviour. It was released to the environment in large amounts during the fifties and sixties of his century, principally by nuclear-weapon tests and some accidents. As a result about 0.4 − 4 mBq per gram 239Pu(T1/2 = 24390 y), corresponding to 4 × 108 − 4 × 109 atoms, can be found in the Northern Hemisphere in soil samples.

Nano-sized I12L6 Molecular Capsules Based on the [N⋅⋅⋅I+⋅⋅⋅N] Halogen Bond

Summary Self-assembly of pre-organized subunits with a concave overall shape is an effective strategy for the synthesis of supramolecular capsules. We report the synthesis of a cavitand-based hexameric capsule held together solely by 12 robust [N⋅⋅⋅I + ⋅⋅⋅N] halogen bonds and its characterization in solution and in the gas phase via 1 H NMR spectroscopy, diffusion-ordered nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (DOSY), and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry. The [N⋅⋅⋅I + ⋅⋅⋅N] halogen-bonded hexameric capsule was efficiently synthesized from the isolobal metallosupramolecular Ag + capsule by application of the [N⋅⋅⋅Ag + ⋅⋅⋅N] → [N⋅⋅⋅I + ⋅⋅⋅N] cation-exchange reaction.

The European Union’s circular economy strategy aims to increase the recycling and re-use of products and waste materials. According to the strategy, the use of industry waste material should be more effective. A chemical precipitation method to simultaneously remove phosphorus and nitrogen from synthetic (NH4)2HPO4 solution and the liquid phase of anaerobic digestate using fly ash as a precipitant was tested. The present work is dedicated to the study of the interactions of CdCl(2) with the synthetic polynucleotides polyAT and polyGC confined in the nanoscopic aqueous compartment of the water-in-oil microemulsion CTAB/pentanol/hexane/water, with the goal to mimic in vitro the situation met by the nucleic acids in vivo. Electron spectroscopy with the SAGE spectrometer

A device called the SAGE (Silicon And GErmanium) spectrometer, designed for in-beam electron spectroscopy, is introduced in this work. A detailed description to the technical aspects of the device is given along with several examples of analytical procedures related to work done with the device. Ultrasensitive and highly specific detection of iodine ions using zirconium (IV)-enhanced oxidation

Nuclear energy has significantly promoted the development of human society. However, nuclear pollution caused by nuclear accidents can lead to significant hazards to the environment and human health. As a major radioactive product, radioactive iodine (mainly existing as I−) detection has attracted significant attentions. In this study, zirconium(IV) is used to enhance the oxidation of environmental I− to form I2. Subsequently, the generated I2 oxidizes the chemical chromogenic substrate 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine, which is used for I− detection and realizes an ultralow limit of detection (LoD) of 0.176 nM.
