Dimensionality Controls Anion Intermixing in Electroluminescent Perovskite Heterojunctions.
2022
Metal halide perovskites have emerged as a promising group of materials for optoelectronic applications such as photovoltaics, light emission, and photodetectors. So-far, in particular, the stability of light-emitting devices is limited, which is in part attributed to the intrinsic ionic conductivity of these materials. High-performance devices inevitably contain heterojunctions similar to other optoelectronic devices based on oxide perovskites, II-VI, or III-V group semiconductors. To enable efficient heterojunctions, ion exchange at the interface between different layers should be controlled. Herein, we report a method that enables to control and monitor the extent of anion intermixing be…
Transparent Light‐Emitting Electrochemical Cells
2022
Single layer light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs) are amongst the simplest electroluminescent devices and operate with air-stable electrodes. Transparent light-emitting devices are of great interest as they can enable new applications in consumer electronics. In this work, a transparent ionic transition metal complex based LEC is fabricated by developing a transparent top contact based on tin (IV) oxide (SnO2) and indium-tin oxide, processed by low-temperature atomic layer deposition and pulsed laser deposition, respectively. The resulting devices present transparency in excess of 75% over the full visible spectrum (380-750 nm), with 82% transmission at the emission peak (563 nm). Th…
Sensitization of nanocrystalline TiO2 with 3,4,9,10-perylene tetracarboxylic acid
2014
Optical properties of 3,4,9,10-perylene tetracarboxylic acid (PTCA) in the presence of nanocrystalline TiO2 (nominal diameter 15 nm) have been investigated in ethanol solution and in the solid state by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy and steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence. Experimental results show that, in ethanol, the presence of TiO2 nanoparticles causes significant changes in the typical absorption and fluorescence bands of PTCA and in the fluorescence relaxation time. Similar effects are also detected in solid samples, obtained by electrospray deposition technique. The nonlinear optical properties of the PTCA-TiO2 in ethanol solutions were investigated using the single-beam Z-s…
Above-bandgap ordinary optical properties of GaSe single crystal
2009
We report above-bandgap ordinary optical properties of ε-phase GaSe single crystal. Reference-quality pseudodielectric function 〈ε(E)〉 = 〈ε1(E)〉+i〈ε2(E)〉 and pseudorefractive index 〈N(E)〉 = 〈n(E)〉+i〈k(E)〉 spectra were measured by spectroscopic ellipsometry from 0.73 to 6.45 eV at room temperature for the light polarization perpendicular to the optic axis (math⊥math). The 〈ε〉 spectrum exhibited several interband-transition critical-point structures. Analysis of second-energy derivatives calculated numerically from the measured data yielded the critical-point energy values. Carmen.Martinez-Tomas@uv.es
Optical and magneto‐optical studies of Mn‐activated LiBaF 3
2005
The photoluminescence (PL) of Mn-doped LiBaF3 shows a weak Mn2+ emission band at 710 nm; the corresponding excitation bands are between 210 and 620 nm. After X-irradiation the PL spectrum shows two new bands peaking at 600 and 670 nm that are tentatively assigned to perturbed Mn2+ emissions; the intensity of all PL bands is increased. Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) and the MCD-detected electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements show that F-type centres are formed after X-irradiation. The EPR measurements indicate that there is a spatial correlation between the F-type centre and the Mn2+ dopant. (© 2005 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

Electron-spectroscopic investigations on ternary HFS: CeT2X2
1997
Investigations of the electronic properties were carried out for ternary Ce-based heavy fermion systems. The well-ordered surfaces of HFS were prepared by MBE on W (110) with subsequent annealing. The layers are characterised by MEED, LEED, AES and XPS. For the electron-spectroscopic investigations, ARUPS and SPEELS were used. In the photoemission spectra, dispersion effects could be detected. By means of SPEELS, the dipole-forbidden Ce f-f transitions could be observed. The comparison of the energy loss spectra above and below the characteristic temperature T∗ reveals differences in the energy losses as well as in the asymmetries.
Ophthalmic: Laboratorio virtual para el diseño de nuevas lentes oftálmicas
2013
This work presents a new virtual laboratory, OPHTALMIC, developed with MATLAB GUI for using in Optics and Optometry courses as a computer tool for studying the focusing properties of multifocal diffractive both on unconventional structures both periodic and aperiodic. This virtual laboratory enables students to quickly and easily analyze the influence of the different parameters of construction and find the best solution for a user.
Energy Optimization of BIPV Glass Blocks: a Multi-software Study
2017
Abstract The aim of this paper is to show the results of the performance analyses carried out on four patented glass block configurations integrated with third-generation Dye-sensitized Solar Cell (DSC) modules. The analyses take into account the thermal, optical and electrical performance by using three different software (COMSOL Multiphysics, WINDOW, Zemax), also enabling to take into consideration the peculiar three-dimensional geometry of this innovative glazed product. Starting from these results, new configurations improved as for the thermal insulation, are also introduced and studied, in order to make further considerations about the applicability of this building component for the …
The reflection coefficient of a flared microstrip line radiating in an infinite parallel-plate waveguide
1993
In this article the reflection coefficient of a tapered microstrip line radiating in an infinite parallel-plate conducting waveguide is calculated. The reflection coefficient at the feed line is evaluated by using the aperture admittance of the horn and the scattering matrix of the continuous taper. The theoretical behavior of the aperture admittance is shown and the reflection coefficient of a microstrip horn radiating in the parallel-plate region of a bootlace lens is measured in order to verify the model. © 1993 John Wiley & sons, Inc.
