The Horn of Africa has a traditional oral literature which is rich and varied as the rest of the continent, starting from pastoral mythology to poetry, legend and storytelling. But with the social upheaval which occurred with the arrival of European settlers and the introduction of writing, the chain of transmission of the oral tradition is threatened. Many Europeans have sought to describe the habits and customs of these people. Whereas on the other hand, the writers from the Horn of Africa are often inspired by giving it (orality) and a new way of doing it. The following research work strives to reflect traditional forms of orality and their impact on modern literature.

This paper seeks to offer an interpretation of the seascape work of Valencian painter Pedro Ferrer Calatayud (1860-1944). Starting from his artistic context, two essential values of the seascape aesthetics can be found in Ferrer's paintings: firstly depth, which is linked to the abyss and represented by the shipwreck, and then temporality, linked to eternity and the cyclical time and rendered through the relationship of the sea with other elements in nature. Our analysis proves that the sea in this painter, far from being merely a subject, was also a means of searching new ideological values and technical ways which would eventually lead to fresh artistic trends in the early 20th century.

This paper exploits the results of agency theory with the aim of contributing a new viewpoint and a form for analysis of the current functioning of the occupational injury and disease section of the Social Security system in its mission of providing incentives for prevention. The aim of this paper is to explain how GIS is used for historical data processing to understand time-space dynamics. In Waiting for the Rain Charles Mungoshi chose a western form, the novel, and a western language, English, to try and convey the deep changes at work in Zimbabwean society at the time. This paper focuses on both aspects: first, the adaptation of the novelistic genre to Zimbabwean culture, and second, the defamiliarization of the English language, which is not Mungoshi's mother tongue.
