Exploring the tourism markets’ convergence hypothesis in Italy

This article aims at investigating the tourism markets’ convergence hypothesis across Italy’s 20 major source markets. To reach our goal, we use monthly data of tourist arrivals and overnights over the period 2008–2018 and the time-varying factor model developed by Phillips and Sul (2007, 2009). Our findings suggest the absence of full (absolute) convergence, leading us to accept the hypothesis of club convergence. We show that the traditionally more important source markets have a tendency to persist, while Asian countries show heterogeneous behaviour. Dimensions et dynamique de la coordination des soins de ville : une analyse économique

Cet article vise à clarifier la notion de coordination en santé, à expliciter ses différentes dimensions et à revenir sur son statut dans un processus de production de soins. Une appréhension plus fine de la coordination permet de mieux analyser le bien-fondé, les difficultés des coordinations promues par les politiques de santé. Nous nous appuyons à la fois sur des études de terrain menées auprès de réseaux, de dispositifs de télémédecine et de MSP, et sur des approches théoriques de la coordination couvrant différents courants de l’économie des organisations.
On the Returns to Invention within Firms: Evidence from Finland

International audience; In this paper we merge individual income data, firm-level data, patenting data, and IQ data in Finland over the period 1988–2012 to analyze the returns to invention for inventors and their coworkers or stakeholders within the same firm. We find that: (i) inventors collect only 8 percent of the total private return from invention; (ii) entrepreneurs get over 44 percent of the total gains; (iii) bluecollar workers get about 26 percent of the gains and the rest goes to white-collar workers. Moreover, entrepreneurs start with significant negative returns prior to the patent application, but their returns subsequently become highly positive.
Impact of psychic distance to the internationalization behavior of knowledge-intensive SMEs

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the internationalization behavior of knowledge-intensive small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by using macro-level psychic distance indicators and managers' perceptions of psychic distance. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses both quantitative and qualitative approaches. In the quantitative approach, the impact of psychic distance to the internationalization behavior is analyzed by using bivariate correlation analysis. Framework Towards a Virtual Tool for the Front-End of Employee-Driven Innovation in Healthcare

This paper combines entrepreneurial behaviour and service innovation in order to investigate the use of the Idea Window; a virtual tool planned for employee-driven service development in a healthcare organisation. The empirical study investigates the tool used as a method for supporting employees' collaborative knowledge sharing in front-end of innovation in two study cases. Particularly, the research findings focus on how the virtual tool can be used for tackling the unknown - tacit knowledge, hidden possibilities, and initiatives in the context. The results are based on Idea Window entries and survey data collected in a Finnish hospital ward.
