El concepto de dignidad en la teoria de las capacidades de Martha Nussbaum | The Concept of Human Dignity according to Martha Nussbaum?s capability a…

2019

2021

It is intended to analyze and reflect in the present work about the institution of the extension of parental authority and parental authority rehabilitated in the new regulation in the Draft Law that reforms the civil and procedural legislation to support people with disabilities in the exercise of their legal capacity. Pre-marital and pre-unional financial agreements and their circulation in the context of the new EU regulations 2016/1103 and 2016/1104

2021

Regulations (EU) 2016/1103 and 2016/1104 provide spouses and partners with the possibility to conclude agreements for the organization of their property regime but do not detail their content and structure. Moreover, while the possibility to conclude those agreements even prior to the marriage or the conclusion of a registered partnership is a valuable innovation in comparison with other European Regulations in family matters, some choices made by the European legislator on applicable law will likely be source of inconveniences. Furthermore, as for their recognition and enforcement in the participating Member States ? which will be based on the same rules enacted for decisions, authentic in…

Formació i experiència, elements clau de l'ocupabilitat

2012

Antitumor Mechanism of the Essential Oils from Two Succulent Plants in Multidrug Resistance Leukemia Cell

2019

Drug resistance remains a major challenge in the treatment of cancer. The multiplicity of the drug resistance determinants raises the question about the optimal strategies to deal with them. Essential oils showed to inhibit the growth of different tumor cell types. Essential oils contain several chemical classes of compounds whose heterogeneity of active moieties can help prevent the development of drug resistance. In the present paper, we analyzed, by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry the chemical composition of the essential oil of the leaves of Kalanchoe beharensis obtained by hydrodistillation and compared the chemical composition of its essential oil with that of Cyphostemma juttae.…

L'approccio al tema

2019

2018

ABSTRACT Intimate partner violence against women (IPVAW) is the most common form of violence suffered by women and constitutes a serious public health problem of global proportions. Public attitudes towards IPVAW are key to understanding the social context in which this type of violence occurs. Victim-blaming attitudes are among those that reflect public tolerance and acceptability of IPVAW and are often used to explain or justify IPVAW. In this study we develop and validate a new instrument to assess victim-blaming attitudes in cases of IPVAW. A sample of 1,800 participants was recruited through social media and a second sample of 50 IPVAW offenders was used for validation purposes. Throug…

Repeated muscle biopsies through a single skin incision do not elicit muscle signaling, but IL-6 mRNA and STAT3 phosphorylation increase in injured m…

2011

To determine if muscle biopsies can be repeated using a single small (5–6 mm) skin incision without inducing immediate MAPK activation or inflammation in the noninjured areas, the phosphorylation of ERK1/2, p38-MAPK, c-Jun NH2-terminal kinases (JNKs), IκBα, IKKα, and signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) was examined concurrent with IL-6 mRNA in six muscle biopsies obtained from the vastus lateralis of five men. Four biopsies were obtained through the same incision (5–6 mm) from the right leg (taken at 0, 30, 123, and 126 min) and another two each from new incisions performed in the left leg (at 31 and 120 min), while the subjects rested supine. The first three biopsie…

Factors Associated with Providers' Work Engagement and Burnout in Homeless Services: A Cross-national Study

2021

Contains fulltext : 232434.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Closed access) The complexity of homeless service users' characteristics and the contextual challenges faced by services can make the experience of working with people in homelessness stressful and can put providers' well-being at risk. In the current study, we investigated the association between service characteristics (i.e., the availability of training and supervision and the capability-fostering approach) and social service providers' work engagement and burnout. The study involved 497 social service providers working in homeless services in eight different European countries (62% women; mean age = 40.73, SD = 10.45) and was part o…

Virtual reality exposure and imaginal exposure in the treatment of fear of flying: a pilot study

2013

Fear of flying (FF) is an impairing psychological disorder that is extremely common in developed countries. The most effective treatment for this particular type of phobia is exposure therapy. However, there are few studies comparing imaginal exposure (IE) and virtual reality (VR) exposure for the treatment of FF. The present study compared the effectiveness of these two approaches using two manualized interventions based on the exposure technique. Patients with FF ( N = 15) were randomly assigned to either VR ( n = 7) or IE therapy ( n = 8), consisting of a total of eight sessions: two assessment sessions (pre-treatment and after the real flight) and six exposure therapy sessions, which w…
