Placemaking in rural areas. New town Gibellina

In Belice Valley, in 1968, after the earthquake, due to the generally poor life conditions, people losing their homes, and a rather not very present State, popular mobilisation was the choice. In the post-earthquake reconstruction, the self-organisation process came back in vogue due to the previous example of Danilo Dolci's action in western Sicily, during the fifties. The Mayor Ludovico Corrao also referred to the revolutionary roots of Dolci's movement, including those values in his dream of city's rebirth, involved inhabitants, artists, and architects to "make the town".

This paper describes the preliminary stages and the theoretical and methodological inspiration for the design of UrbanCraft, a gamified activity based on Kevin Lynch's mental maps and aiming at enhancing youth participation and inclusion in urban co-design and governance. Il contributo analizza il quadro normativo comunitario e nazionale in tema di tutela dei minori non accompagnati. In particolare, lo studio si sofferma sui profili del diritto all'ascolto, disciplinato nelle fonti internazionali e nazionali, e sulla partecipazione dei minori, anche attraverso la presentazione di un caso studio. Pur nella consapevolezza dell''intrinseca complessità della questione, si ritiene tuttavia che occorra ancora, sia a livello europeo che nazionale, una maggiore attenzione da parte dei legislatori e una visione di insieme in tema di protezione del minore, che tenga conto della peculiarità della situazione del minore migrante.

La partecipazione popolare al procedimento legislativo prevista dallo Statuto: vincolo giuridico o politico-parlamentare?

This paper aims to analyze the participation of organized interests in the legislative process, disciplined by the article 12.3 of the Sicilian Statute. The results of the research show that no other regional statute, and not even the Rules of procedure of the two chambers of the Parliament, adopts the same mechanism of participation. The Sicilian Statute can be considered an interesting example of how the decision- making process can include organized interests as already experimented with the public debate on large infrastructures.

In Palermo, the Law department and a poor bazar of used things share the same square. Even if so closed, the academy and the market ignored and inspect each other with a mutual suspect for a long time. This happened as long as in an academic course an experiment of collaboration between students and merchants has been launched. The aim was to look at the right from the margin and to rewrite the rules together. The produced regulation draft has been used by the Municipality to make the market official. From this experience emerges an idea of university epistemologically humble, able to renounce to the title of knowledge’s monopolist and to activate processes of knowledge co-creation.
