Pd2Au36(SR)(24) cluster: structure studies

The location of the Pd atoms in Pd2Au36(SC2H4Ph)(24), is studied both experimentally and theoretically. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) indicates oxidized Pd atoms. Palladium K-edge extended X-ray absorption fine-structure (EXAFS) data clearly show Pd-S bonds, which is supported by far infrared spectroscopy and by comparing theoretical EXAFS spectra in R space and circular dichroism spectra of the staple, surface and core doped structures with experimental spectra.
Towards controlling PCDD/F production in a multi-fuel fired BFB boiler using two sulfur addition strategies

Abstract PCDD/F abatement strategies – sulfur pellet addition and peat co-combustion – were tested for a BFB boiler facility utilizing SRF-bark-sludge as fuel. In this paper chemical and physical analyses of electrostatic precipitator (ESP) fly ashes were used to explain the differences in the performance of these strategies. These analyses revealed a difference between the coarse and fine fly ashes collected in the ESP. Chemical analysis of the fine fly ashes revealed high concentration of easily volatilized elements while the SEM micrographs showed that fine ash are composed of clusters of spherical particles, thereby leading to a conclusion that fine ashes were originally in a gas phase …

Start es el principal punto de control del ciclo celular en el que las células se comprometen a una nueva ronda de división celular. Este punto de control implica la activación irreversible de un programa transcripcional por los complejos Cdc28-Cln a través de la inactivación del represor transcripcional de Start Whi5. En este trabajo se proporcionan nuevas claves sobre cómo Whi7, una proteína relacionada a nivel de secuencia con Whi5, reprime Start. Objective: the role of p53 expression in odontogenic lesions has not been fully determined, but has been associated with cell proliferation. The purpose of this study was to analyze p53 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) expression in 4 different odontogenic lesions. Design: expression of p53 and PCNA was analyzed in radicular and dentigerous cysts, odontogenic keratocysts, and calcifying odontogenic cysts (Gorlin cysts) using monoclonal antibodies for detection of p53 and PCNA. Šī darba ietvaros noskaidrota TOR un PKA raksturīgo mērķproteīnu - transkripcijas faktoru Gln3p, Msn2p, Msn4p un proteīnkināzes Rim15 iespējamā saistība ar auksotrofās adenīna badināšanas izraisītā paaugstinātā stresa izturības fenotipa veidošanos maizes raugā. Veikta izvēlēto mērķproteīnu sekvenču C-galu saīsināšana un pētīta izveidoto mutanto celmu subletālo stresu (oksidatīvā, karstuma un žāvēšanas) izturība, kā arī novērtēta NADPH/NADP un NADH/NAD attiecība.
