Modeling multiple taxis: Tumor invasion with phenotypic heterogeneity, haptotaxis, and unilateral interspecies repellence

We provide a short review of existing models with multiple taxis performed by (at least) one species and consider a new mathematical model for tumor invasion featuring two mutually exclusive cell phenotypes (migrating and proliferating). The migrating cells perform nonlinear diffusion and two types of taxis in response to non-diffusing cues: away from proliferating cells and up the gradient of surrounding tissue. Transitions between the two cell subpopulations are influenced by subcellular (receptor binding) dynamics, thus conferring the setting a multiscale character. Spectral rigidity and invariant distributions on Anosov surfaces

This article considers inverse problems on closed Riemannian surfaces whose geodesic flow is Anosov. We prove spectral rigidity for any Anosov surface and injectivity of the geodesic ray transform on solenoidal 2-tensors. We also establish surjectivity results for the adjoint of the geodesic ray transform on solenoidal tensors. The surjectivity results are of independent interest and imply the existence of many geometric invariant distributions on the unit sphere bundle. Predictors of mortality in COPD patients after hospitalization due to an exacerbation

Aim: Identify factors related to mortality at 6 months after hospitalization by an acute COPD exacerbation (AECOPD). Method: We performed a 12-month prospective, observational study (July 2017-June 2018) that included COPD patients admitted by an AECOPD. Sociodemographic data, comorbidities, functional and clinical parameters were collected. Mortality at 6 months of admission was considered the end point. Results: 278 consecutive patients were enrolled, of whom 48 (16.2%) died during 6 months after AECOPD. Gli autori sintetizzano tutte le informazioni bibliografiche e inedite sulle specie che sino al 30 agosto 2015 sono state contattate almeno una volta nelle 14 isole circumsiciliane (Eolie, Ustica, Egadi, Pantelleria e Pelagie), confrontando alla fine la lista complessiva con quella delle isole Maltesi. In totale sono ad oggi note 434 specie (isole Maltesi incluse); molte di esse hanno mostrato nel corso dei secoli una notevole capacità di colonizzazione, fluttuando nel tempo o addirittura estinguendosi e ricolonizzando alcune isole. Bakalaura darbs Vispārējie XXV latviešu Dziesmu un XV Deju svētki deju kolektīva „Vērgalīte” un kora „Vēl” dalībnieku sociālajā atmiņā mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā veidojas un kā atšķiras divu kolektīvu sociālā atmiņa par vienu notikumu. Darba teorētiskajā daļā detalizēti izskaidrotas rituālu komunikācijas un sociālās atmiņas koncepcijas. Vispārējā konteksta izpratnei izmatotas arī Dziesmu un Deju svētku vēsturiskie un raksturojošie apraksti, kā arī abu kolektīvu raksturojumi. Kontentanalīžu rezultāti liecina, ka abu kolektīvu dalībnieku vidū pastāv pozitīvu atmiņu saglabāšanas princips, to pamatojot ar Dziesmu un Deju svētkiem kā nacionālo apziņu nostiprinošu fenomenu.
