Individuals adjust their behavior on social media to varying extent, and commonly in their idealized way. Most studies have focused on the problems associated with materialism and social media use, yet their potential positive contributions remain less clear. In fact, impression management holds potential for both negative and positive: it has been linked with materialistic attitudes, but also increased amounts of self-reported social capital. On the 26th May 2017, the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights rendered its first judgement on an indigenous peoples’ rights case, dealing with the forced eviction of the Ogieks, a Kenyan hunter-gatherer indigenous community of approximately 20.000 members, from their ancestral lands in the Mau Forest. Sense of coherence and health among home-dwelling older people.

Sense of coherence (SOC) is important for maintaining health. The aim of this study was to investigate if the SOC experience among home-dwelling physically active older people differs from that of hospital patients with the same age and sex. Data were collected with questionnaires and structured interviews containing Antonovsky’s SOC scale in an age- and sex-matched study group (n=160). Non-parametric statistical analyses were performed. No differences were found in SOC between home-dwelling individuals and patients. Selkäydinvammaisille kohdennettujen toimintakykymittareiden valikoima on suppea ja niiden pätevyys vaihtelee. Selkäydinvammaisen henkilön toimintakyvyn itsearviointimittari (The Spinal Cord Independence Measure- Self Report: SCIM-SR) on kehitetty tarkastelemaan juuri selkäydinvammaisten henkilöiden toimintakykyä selkäydinvammaan liittyvissä asioissa.
