In this study, a cyclame derivative bearing four aliphatic chain substituents shows, like many amphiphiles, solid-condensed as well as liquid-expanded phases. In contrast to the classical amphiphiles, the onset of its phase transition is characterized by a bump-like shape whose amplitude is a function of the compression speed. Electrospun mats have been applied as toughening interlayers in high performance carbon fiber epoxy composites. While the toughening mechanism exerted by the mat at the interface is the subject of several recent studies, no investigations are reported on the aging behaviour of laminates comprising these nanostructured elements. In this article we report the synthesis and in vitro evaluation of well-defined, folate functionalized and fluorescently labeled polymers based on the clinically approved N-(2-hydroxypropyl)-methacrylamide (HPMA). The polymers were prepared applying the RAFT polymerization method as well as the reactive ester approach. The molecular weights of the polymers synthesized were around 15 and 30 kDa. The total content of conjugated folate varied from 0, 5, and 10 mol %. To improve the quality level of plastic packaging materials, we determined the influence of chemical degradation of polypropylene (PP) upon the amount of volatile components extracted by hot water from PP pellets. Two formulations were analyzed and compared: PP CR (degraded) and PP (not degraded). After Likens-Nickerson's extraction of the pellets and concentration of the extract, an HPLC fractionation was made to collect three fractions of different poiarities: a pentane (A), a dichloromethane (B), and an ether (C) fraction. Thermal and structural properties of historical woods from apparatuses of the Historical Collection of the Physics Instruments of the University of Palermo have been investigated by FTIR spectroscopy coupled with thermogravimetric analysis. Specifically, the wooden portions of apparatuses from XIX century have been studied. The investigated woods belong to different taxa (Swietenia mahagoni, Picea abies and Juglans regia). The intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions between poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) and poly(styrene-co-vinyl phenol) copolymers with mutual solvent epichlorohydrin were thoroughly investigated by steady-state fluorescence and viscosity techniques. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the lack of protective equipment worldwide, we aimed to study the literature for finding guidelines in the 3D manufacture of respiratory masks. We have searched for papers in CI-EXPANDED, SSCI, A&HCI, CPCI-S, CPCI-SSH, BKCI-S, BKCI-SSH, ESCI, CCR-EXPANDED, IC, using 3D printing materials sterilization and 3D printing materials disinfection keywords. From 80 results in databases, after refining, we selected six papers. We have also searched for manufacturers information regarding 3D printing materials sterilization or disinfection.
