Probiotics in the prevention and treatment of atopic dermatitis

The use of probiotic supplements might change the composition of the intestinal flora of children, subsequently modulating the immune system's reactivity. The effects of probiotic administration for the prevention/treatment of allergic diseases and atopic dermatitis, in particular, are still so controversial that no definitive recommendation can be made at this stage. Differences in strain specificity, timing, and length of administration all contribute to diversifying the conclusions of this review.

The aim of this study was to investigate the attentional mechanism in speech processing of native and foreign language in children with and without attentional deficit. For this purpose, the P3a component, cognitive neuromarker of the attentional processes, was investigated in a two-sequence two-deviant oddball paradigm using Finnish and English speech items via event-related potentials (ERP) technique. Visual attention-related processes include three functional sub-processes: alerting, orienting, and inhibition. We examined these sub-processes using reaction times, event-related potentials (ERPs), and their neuronal source activations during the Attention Network Test (ANT) in control children, attentional problems (AP) children, and reading difficulties (RD) children. Optimal recovery of a radiating source with multiple frequencies along one line

We study an inverse problem where an unknown radiating source is observed with collimated detectors along a single line and the medium has a known attenuation. The research is motivated by applications in SPECT and beam hardening. If measurements are carried out with frequencies ranging in an open set, we show that the source density is uniquely determined by these measurements up to averaging over levelsets of the integrated attenuation. This leads to a generalized Laplace transform. We also discuss some numerical approaches and demonstrate the results with several examples.

Šī maģistra darba mērķis bija izpētīt problemātiskas interneta lietošanas (PIL) saistību ar vecāku audzināšanas stiliem un attiecībām ar vienaudžiem; izpētīt cik lielā mērā vecāku audzināšana un attiecības ar vienaudžiem prognozē PIL. Pētījumā piedalījās 70 pusaudži vecumā no 11-15 gadiem (vidējais vecums 13,03 gadi), no kuriem 40 bija meitenes un 30 zēni. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli tutkia opetusharjoittelukokemuksia. Tutkimusprosessin edetessä tavoite tarkentui tarkastelemaan miten reflektio näkyi harjoittelukokemuksissa, sekä millaisia selityksiä opiskelijat antoivat kokemuksilleen. Lisäksi pohdimme, mitkä seikat muodostuivat oppimisen mahdollistajiksi ja estäjiksi. Tutkimusaineistona olivat kahden Jyväskylän yliopistossa luokanopettajaksi opiskelevan integraatioryhmän opetusharjoitteluraportit. Harjoitteluraportteja oli yhteensä 18.
