A hybrid MCDM approach for ranking suppliers by considering ethical factors
2016
One of the negative effects of cooperating with un-ethically behaving suppliers is that it may devastate the companies' credibility among employees, customers and the public. In this paper, a hybrid Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) approach (Disjunctive-WPM method) is proposed to resolve this limitation. The proposed methods consist of the following steps: 1. drop unethical solutions and 2. rank the remaining solutions. Therefore, the aim of this paper is the application of the DisjunctiveWPM method to supplier selection problem by adding ethical factors into the analysis. In addition, a comparative analysis to the traditional WMP method is carried out. The proposed method appears t…
La pedagogia nell'età contemporanea. Oltre il paradigma positivistico.
2022
This chapter is dedicated to the twentieth century, where pedagogy underwent a profound transformation becoming a science capable of critically reflecting on education and taking on the characteristics of a specific, complex and more articulated knowledge. Thanks to this brief history of contemporary pedagogical epistemology, it is explained why pedagogy needed to create new paradigms of scientific research.
Socioemotional functioning across the transition to lower secondary school : The role of temperament and relationships with mothers and teachers
2023
This Finnish longitudinal study investigated the role of relationships with mothers (n = 631) and teachers (n = 56), and adolescents' (n = 848; 53.9% girls, 46.1% boys) temperament in the development of the adolescents' socioemotional functioning during the transition to lower secondary school (Grade 6 to Grade 7; age in Grade 6: M = 12.32, SD = 0.36). The results showed that mother–adolescent closeness predicted a higher level and teacher–adolescent closeness predicted a smaller decrease in prosocial behavior. Teacher–adolescent conflict predicted a higher level, and mother–adolescent conflict predicted an increase in externalizing problems. Only temperament predicted internalizing problem…

Longitudinal associations between adolescent behaviour problems and perceived family relationships
2010
AbstractThe goal of the present study was to examine the longitudinal associations between perceived family relationships and adolescents’ externalizing/ internalizing problems. The study sample included 366 pupils from secondary schools in Latvia, 12-14 years of age, who completed self-report questionnaires. Data were collected in two assessments 1 year apart. The results indicate that elevations in adolescent problem behavior prospectively predicted subsequent decreases in perceived family cohesion and increases in family conflict. The effect of perceived family cohesion and conflict as assessed at Time1 was not statistically significant in prediction of Time2 adolescent behaviour problem…
Social Work in the Area o Social Support for the Family with a Disabled Child
2013
In the times of continually changing socioeconamic conditions behind the functioning o f contemporary families, many of them have to cope with a variety of problems of everyday life. Families raising disabled children come to face a particularly hard situation in this respect, since problems pertaining to the emotional sphere, ones related to providing care and education, securing material and daily life needs, as well as those of the social nature, which appear within the families, are additionally augmented by the fact of their child’s disability. Solving the problems is often impossible relying on the limited resources of the family members themselves. And the support extended to them by…
A fast dual boundary element method for 3D anisotropic crack problems
2009
In the present paper a fast solver for dual boundary element analysis of 3D anisotropic crack problems is formulated, implemented and tested. The fast solver is based on the use of hierarchical matrices for the representation of the collocation matrix. The admissible low rank blocks are computed by adaptive cross approximation (ACA). The performance of ACA against the accuracy of the adopted computational scheme for the evaluation of the anisotropic kernels is investigated, focusing on the balance between the kernel representation accuracy and the accuracy required for ACA. The system solution is computed by a preconditioned GMRES and the preconditioner is built exploiting the hierarchical …
Kulturālā dzimtes ideoloģija un attieksmes pret feminismu Latvijā
2018
Reflecting on the PRET A Rapporter Framework Via a Field Study of Adolescents’ Perceptions of Technology and Exercise
2013
PRET A Rapporter (PRETAR) was developed to explicitly structure user-centered evaluation studies to ensure all necessary elements are individually and independently considered. Its creators see its benefit as twofold: for study design and in retrospective evaluations. We evaluate PRETAR’s potential by applying it retrospectively to one of our eHealth field studies in which we investigated the design requirements for mobile technologies that would support and motivate adolescents to exercise opportunistically. We also use PRETAR to evaluate the key literature for this eHealth study. This shows that typically the research methodology is under-reported. Then we document the study in terms of i…
