The efficient teaching and the reflexive one were long recognized as desirable purposes of teachers’ training programs. The subject of the reflections set out in this article are the issues relating to the subjectivity of a teacher and his competence in the face of civilizing changes. As the title suggests, the study deals with the diversified division of competences both of contemporary man and the teacher. Professional training of educators should include both a grounding in theory and assertions on the subject of man’s development, processes of “finding one’s place” naturally in the world, process educating man with a defined goal (education and upbringing) and processes of his socialization (collectivisation - full time employment - nationalization - politicization - globalization).

Professional identity in relation to vocational teachers’ work : an identity-centred approach to professional development

This paper reports a study on teachers’ professional identity and work in vocational education. The findings showed that vocational teachers’ work included vocational teaching within the school, developmental work, technology-enhanced work, professional duties outside the school, and educational duties within the school. Furthermore, the study revealed the harmonious and tensioned relationships between these elements of the work and teachers’ identities. Recognition of the nuanced nature of these relationships provides a perspective for promoting teachers’ professional development. This chapter aims to familiarize readers with the specificity of pharmaceutical discourse, including its spoken and written text varieties. I paid particular attention to two issues. Firstly, pharmaceutical discourse and pharmaceutical texts are often classified by researchers into broader category of medical or biomedical discourse. Second, pharmaceutical discourse is not autonomous as it is also permeated with medical, legal, academic and other discourses.
