Maģistra darbs veltīts 2. tipa cukura diabēta ģenētisko cēloņu izpētei Latvijas populācijā, kā arī automatizētas visa genoma asociācijas pētījumu darbplūsmas programmas izveidei. Darba ietvaros noskaidroti četri Latvijā bieži sastopami viena nukleotīda polimorfismi, kas būtiski asociēti ar 2. tipa cukura diabēta risku. Trīs no tiem atrodas gēnos LOC105370658, STK39 un BTNL2, kas ekspresējas un ir nozīmīgi aizkuņģa dziedzera insulīnu sekretējošo beta šūnu darbībā. Apvienojot 41 polimorfismu poligēnā riska modelī (PRS), izskaidroti 11% no slimības variācijas ar AUC 0.69. Single-cell RNA Expression of SARS-CoV-2 Cell Entry Factors in Human Endometrium during Preconception

AbstractWe investigated potential SARS-CoV-2 tropism in human endometrium by single-cell RNA-sequencing of viral entry-associated genes in healthy women. Percentages of endometrial cells expressing ACE2, TMPRSS2, CTSB, or CTSL were <2%, 12%, 80%, and 80%, respectively, with 0.7% of cells expressing all four genes. Our findings imply low efficiency of SARS-CoV-2 infection in the endometrium before embryo implantation, providing information to assess preconception risk in asymptomatic carriers.

Diplomdarbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 50 lapām. Tajā ir 10 attēli, 8 tabulas, un 33 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. depresiju sastāda lielu daļu no psihiskajāmsaslimšanām. Eiropā saslimstība ar depresiju sastāda lielu daļu no psihiskajām saslimšanām. No SPKC informācijas, no visiem bērniem un jauniešiem Latvijā ar depresiju un saistītajām saslimšanām slimo tikai 0,2%, bet visā pasaulē šie procenti svārstās apmēram no četriem līdz astoņiem procentiem. Šādi dati liecina par to, ka Latvijā varētu būt nepilnvērtīgi dati par bērnu un jauniešu saslimstību ar depresiju. Low-molecular weight natural products display vast structural diversity and have played a key role in the development of novel therapeutics. Here we report the discovery of novel members of the aeruginosin family of natural products, which we named varlaxins. The chemical structures of varlaxins 1046A and 1022A were determined using a combination of mass spectrometry, analysis of one- and two-dimensional NMR spectra, and HPLC analysis of Marfey's derivatives. In this paper we describe security functions available in GPRS, explaining authentication and encryption options, and evaluate how suitable it is for use in a Smart Grid environment. We conclude that suitability of GPRS depends on the chosen authentication and encryption functions, and on selecting a reliable and trustworthy mobile network operator.
