Does lake age affect zooplankton diversity in Mediterranean lakes and reservoirs? A case study from southern Italy

Zooplankton assemblages of 51 lacustrine environments located in the middle of the Mediterranean Region were analysed to evaluate the existence of an ‘age effect’ in determining their structure. The analysed datasets refer to two different geographic areas, one comprising 30 natural and artificial lakes in Sicily and the other an arrangement of 21 analogous aquatic ecosystems located at the bottom of the Italian Peninsula, a more pristine area called Southern Apennine region. The study is based on individual interviews with 22 psychiatric patients, who were also users of social services. Time resolved photofragmentation of Au $_{n}^{+}$ and Ag $_{n}^{+}$ clusters (n = 9, 21)

Gold and silver cluster ions were produced by laser vaporization and stored in a Penning trap. After mass selection the cluster sizes of interest were illuminated by a laser pulse and electronically excited. Photoabsorption cross sections and fragmentation patterns were measured for photon energies of 2.3 eV to 5.2 eV. Unimolecular dissociation was observed time resolved on a microsecond to millisecond scale. Dissociation energies were deduced from the measured life times.

Mass measurements towards doubly magic Ni-78 : Hydrodynamics versus nuclear mass contribution in core-collapse supernovae

International audience; We report the first high-precision mass measurements of the neutron-rich nuclei 74,75Ni and the clearly identified ground state of 76Cu, along with a more precise mass-excess value of 78Cu, performed with the double Penning trap JYFLTRAP at the Ion Guide Isotope Separator On-Line (IGISOL) facility. These new results lead to a quantitative estimation of the quenching for the N=50 neutron shell gap. Precision mass measurements of neutron-rich nuclei between N=50 and 82

Our knowledge of binding energies of neutron-rich nuclei has experienced a major revision during the last five years due to the introduction of Penning-trap based mass measurements. New mass values for nearly 300 nuclides produced in fission with uncertainties of 10 keV or less have become available. The data produced at three Penning trap facilities at Jyvaskyla, CERN-ISOLDE and Argonne cover all isotopic chains from Ni to Pr, except iodine.
