The study aimed to examine the association between self-assessment of attractiveness and life satisfaction in women, where age was a potential moderator of this relationship. A cross-sectional study of 360 women aged 18 to 89 was performed. Participants assessed their overall attractiveness, the attractiveness of their individual body parts, and their life satisfaction. The relationship between the assessment of attractiveness of particular body parts and life satisfaction depended on age. The chapter fi rst introduces the concept of emerging adulthood as a period of life that is characterized by instabilities and fl uctuations. Then, the role of goal setting and aspirations in individual development during this stage of life is discussed. Most research on aging in rotifers has been performed with populations, not with individuals. As a consequence, the dependent variable in these studies is usually either mean lifespan or rate of survivorship. After a brief consideration of the literature published since the last major review (King, 1969), the results of a series of experiments are presented. Males and females of three genetically distinct clones of Brachionus plicatilis were used for a factorial life table analysis at three different temperatures. Student teachers' experiences of participating in mixed peer mentoring groups of in-service and pre-service teachers in Finland

This article examines from the student perspective a new Finnish model of teacher development that uses the peer group mentoring (PGM) method for combining pre-service and in-service teacher education. Reflective reports of student teachers (N = 19) who participated in PGM were analyzed using the phenomenographic method. The results show that students' experiences varied from considering the activity as (1) a coffee break or (2) peer-support, to seeing it as (3) identity construction or (4) a way of participating in a professional community.
