Thiabendazole (TBZ) is a persistent fungicide used in the post-harvest treatment of fruits. Its application results in the production of contaminated effluents which should be treated before their environmental discharge. In the absence of efficient treatment methods in place, biological systems based on microbial inocula with specialized degrading capacities against TBZ could be a feasible treatment approach. Only recently the first bacterial consortium able to rapidly transform TBZ was isolated. This study aimed to characterize its biodegradation, bioremediation and detoxification potential. Aza-macrocyclic triphenylamine ligands for G-quadruplex recognition

A new series of triphenylamine-based ligands with one (TPA1PY), two (TPA2PY) or three pendant aza-macrocycle(s) (TPA3PY) has been synthesised and studied by means of pH-metric titrations, UV/Vis spectroscopy and fluorescence experiments. The affinity of these ligands for G-quadruplex (G4) DNA and the selectivity they show for G4s over duplex DNA were investigated by Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET) melting assays, fluorimetric titrations and circular dichroism spectroscopy. Obesity is a major public health problem. An in-depth knowledge of the molecular mechanisms of oro-sensory detection of dietary lipids may help fight it. Humans and rodents can detect fatty acids via lipido-receptors, such as CD36 and GPR120. We studied the implication of the MAPK pathways, in particular, ERK1/2, in the gustatory detection of fatty acids. Linoleic acid, a dietary fatty acid, induced via CD36 the phosphorylation of MEK1/2-ERK1/2-ETS-like transcription factor-1 cascade, which requires Fyn-Src kinase and lipid rafts in human taste bud cells (TBCs). Abstract A reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatographic procedure was developed for determination of lobenzarit disodium in human plasma over the range 0.5−17.5 μg/mL with diphenylamine as internal standard. Plasma samples were extracted with acetonitrile and an aliquot was injected onto a Lichrospher 100 RP-18 column with ultraviolet absorbance detection at 308 nm. Composition of the mobile phase was acetonitrile-water-glacial acetic acid (50:50:0.2 v/v/v).

This paper describes the synthesis of narrowly distributed block copolymers consisting of a hole conducting triarylamine block and an anchor block via RAFT polymerization. The anchor block is thereby introduced via a reactive ester approach. Block copolymers with dopamine anchor groups bind to oxidic semiconductors like TiO 2 , SnO 2 , and ZnO. Thus, it becomes possible to cover inorganic electron conducting (acceptor) nanomaterials with a corona of an organic hole conducting (donor) polymer like poly(triphenylamine), giving new hybrid materials. In blended hybrid systems distinct micro- or nanostructured materials can be formed by phase separation. Network structures of particles or rods in a polymer matrix can be developed via self-assembly. We use this blending approach to compare active materials for application in solar cell devices. Blends were fabricated from either poly(hexylthiophene) P3HT or poly(triphenylamine) PTPA mixed with nanocrystalline TiO 2 rods. Free-standing nanorod arrays of a thermally cross-linked semiconducting triphenylamine were fabricated on conductive ITO/glass substrates via an anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template-assisted approach. By using a solution wetting method combined with a subsequent thermal imprinting step to fill the nanoporous structure of the template with a cross-linkable triphenylamine derivative, a polymeric replication of the AAO was obtained after thermal curing and selective removal of the template.
