Why does curtilum appear so frequently in the Burgundian medieval charters ? And why is it today so well preserved in the Burgundian toponymy ? A survey in CBMA mediolatin database provides some information. Multiform, badly defined in the Latin and French dictionaries, poorly translated by «courtil» , little mentionned in the bibliography, curtilum however refers to a rather well described reality. Côte d’Or, zählt neben der Heuneburg zu den am besten erforschten Fürstensitzen imfrühkeltischen Westhallstattkreis. 1953 wurde das späthallstattzeitliche Fürstinnengrab von Vix entdeckt. The role of metallurgy in the Copper Age communities of the Iberian Southeast is a recurrent question of archaeological research in western Europe. Based on lead isotope and trace element analyses of archaeometallurgical remains, this paper addresses the territorial organisation of metallurgical production during the Copper Age (3100-2200 cal BC) in the Vera Basin (Almería, Spain), the region with the earliest metallurgical evidence in western Europe.
