Comparison of Road Safety Policy Objectives in Poland and in the European Union

The aim of the chapter is to identify main actions undertaken within the Polish road safety policy and to assess its efficacy based on the system approach, as well as to present recommendations for enhancing road safety in Poland. In the first part of the chapter key objectives of the EU road safety policy are elaborated. Then, the situation in Poland related to the number of road fatalities and to the causes of accidents is described, and policy instruments in Poland are presented. Artykuł porusza istotną kwestię jaką jest wpływ migracji na rynek pracy w Polsce. W sytuacji wysokiego bezrobocia i braku perspektyw na znalezienie pracy w kraju wielu Polaków zdecydowało się na emigrację. Background: The study aimed to evaluate the angle of trunk rotation (ATR) and symmetry of lower limb loading in professional musicians. Material and Methods: A total of 60 instrumentalists were examined: cellists, violinists and musicians playing wind instruments. The scoliometer examination was used to assess trunk asymmetry. The angle of trunk rotation was measured at segment: Th1–Th4, Th5–Th12, and Th12–L4. The maximum value (ATR max) and the sum of three rotations (STR) were calculated. Celem artykułu jest określenie zmian struktury oraz tempa wzrostu produkcji żywca rzeźnego w województwach Polski w latach 2004–2014 według gatunków, z zastosowaniem klasycznej metody przesunięć udziałów. Ponadto zidentyfikowano i oszacowano udział czynników strukturalnych oraz regionalnych w wielkości efektu globalnego (produkcji żywca rzeźnego w Polsce ogółem) w przekroju województw. Na podstawie wyników badań wykazano, że zróżnicowanie tempa zmian produkcji żywca rzeźnego związane jest przede wszystkim z pozycją konkurencyjną regionu, a w mniejszym stopniu zależne od zmian struktury produkcji

The sycamore lace bug Corythucha ciliata (Say, 1832) has a North American origin and is one of the most abundant and widespread pests on plane trees (Platanus spp.) across the globe. It has been introduced to Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, and Africa during the last sixty years. In Poland, it has been recorded since 2009 in 28 localities distributed in four of its southern zoogeographical regions. The present paper describes the second record of this species in Upper Silesia.
