Data and code for "Dipolar coupling of nanoparticle-molecule assemblies: An efficient approach for studying strong coupling"
2021
The data includes the optical excitations of benzene, the optical spectra of coupled benzene-Al NP systems, and fits of the spectra to the coupled oscillator model. The optical spectra in question have been obtained in the dipolar coupling approximation and analyzed in the article "Dipolar coupling of nanoparticle-molecule assemblies: An efficient approach for studying strong coupling" by Jakub Fojt, Tuomas P. Rossi, Tomasz J. Antosiewicz, Mikael Kuisma and Paul Erhart. Scripts for processing of the data, which extract optical spectra from NWChem output files, and fit optical spectra to the coupled oscillator model, are also included. The scripts are written in Python and require …
Funcionamiento Neuropsicológico en el Trastorno Bipolar: Estabilizadores del Humor y Benzodiacepinas
2021
Pole-to-Pole Connections : Similarities between Arctic and Antarctic Microbiomes and Their Vulnerability to Environmental Change
2017
The global biogeography of microorganisms remains poorly resolved, which limits the current understanding of microbial resilience toward environmental changes. Using high-throughput 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing, we characterized the microbial diversity of terrestrial and lacustrine biofilms from the Arctic, Antarctic and temperate regions. Our analyses suggest that bacterial community compositions at the poles are more similar to each other than they are to geographically closer temperate habitats, with 32% of all operational taxonomic units (OTUs) co-occurring in both polar regions. While specific microbial taxa were confined to distinct regions, representing potentially endemic popul…
Net charge and polarizability of zeolitic Brønsted acidic sites
2007
The interacting induced-dipoles polarization model, implemented in our program POLAR, is used for the calculation of the effective polarizability of the zeolitic bridged OH group, which results much higher than that of the free silanol group. A high polarizability is also calculated for the bridged OH group with a Si4+, in the absence of Lewis-acid promotion of silanol by Al3+. The crystal polarizability is estimated from the Clausius-Mossotti relationship. Siliceous zeolites are low-permittivity isolators. The interaction of a weak base with the zeolitic OH can be considered as a local bond. Only when cations are located in the zeolite micropore, next to tetrahedra that contain trivalent c…
Onset of DNA synthesis in experimentally activated ascidian eggs
1994
DNA synthesis was studied autoradiographically in unfertilized ascidian eggs (Ascidia malaca and Ciona intestinalis) that had been artificially activated by a K+-free external medium or a Ca-ionophore. Naked eggs of A. malaca were incubated in K+-free seawater that contained [3H]-thymidine for 30 min, and naked eggs of C. intestinalis were incubated in seawater supplemented with a Ca-ionophore and [3H]-thymidine for 15 min. The observations revealed limited activation in eggs treated with K+-free seawater. Activation consisted of surface modifications and the onset of DNA synthesis. Incorporation of [3H]-thymidine was detected in female nuclei of treated eggs which had not ejected their pol…
Influence of Light on the Bioelectric Potential of the Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) Hypocotyl Hook
1975
By use of surface electrodes electropotenlial measurements were carried out on hypocotyl hooks of Phaseolus vulgaris seedlings. The hooks were illuminated with a small spot of white, blue, red or far red light. The potential changes in bean hypocotyl hooks do not show the red-far red reversible characteristics of phytochrome-mediated processes. By experimenting with inhibitors of photosynthesis we could demonstrate that the light-triggered potential changes in green bean hooks are correlated to photosynthetic electron transport phenomena. The red-light-induced transient is a depolarization, whereas blue light induces a hyperpolarization. Etiolated beans exhibit no bioelectric potential chan…
Tali risultati dive…
A comparative meta-analysis of TEMPS scores across mood disorder patients, their first-degree relatives, healthy controls, and other psychiatric diso…
2016
Background The Temperament Evaluation Memphis, Pisa, Paris and San Diego Auto-questionnaire (TEMPS) is validated to assess temperament in clinical and non-clinical samples. Scores vary across bipolar disorder (BD), major depressive disorder (MDD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), borderline personality disorder (BPD) and healthy controls (HCs), but a meta-analysis is missing. Methods Meta-analysis of studies comparing TEMPS scores in patients with mood disorders or their first-degree relatives to each other, or to a psychiatric control group or HCs. Results Twenty-six studies were meta-analyzed with patients with BD (n= 2025), MDD (n=1283), ADHD (n=56) and BPD (n=43), relati…

Neuropsychological underpinnings of the dynamics of bipolar disorder
2015
Although we have gained enormous insights into neurobiological and psychological underpinnings of bipolar disorder (BD) symptoms, our knowledge concerning pathogenic mechanisms initiating recurrent affective episodes is still fragmentary. Previous research has highlighted the role of significant life events and social rhythm in recurrent episodes of mania and depression. However, most studies share the drawback of retrospective self-report data, which are prone to recall biases and limited introspective abilities. Therefore, more objective data, such as neuropsychological and neurobiological measures are needed to further unravel the pathogenic mechanisms of the dynamics of bipolar disorder…
