Intensified Job Demands and Cognitive Stress Symptoms : The Moderator Role of Individual Characteristics

2020

Intensified job demands (IJDs) originate in the general accelerated pace of society and ever-changing working conditions, which subject workers to increasing workloads and deadlines, constant planning and decision-making about one’s job and career, and the continual learning of new professional knowledge and skills. This study investigated how individual characteristics, namely negative and positive affectivity related to competence demands, and multitasking preference moderate the association between IJDs and cognitive stress symptoms among media workers (n = 833; 69% female, mean age 48 years). The results show that although IJDs were associated with higher cognitive stress symptoms at wo…

Model wielowymiarowej profilaktyki pozytywnej w teorii i praktyce pedagogicznej

2019

Artykuł opisuje teoretyczne oraz empiryczne założenia autorskiego modelu wielowymiarowej profilaktyki pozytywnej. Ponadto prezentuje sposób jego urzeczywistnienia w praktyce pedagogicznej, przedstawiając strukturę autorskiego programu profilaktycznego Wsparcie wielowymiarowego rozwoju młodzieży, zrealizowanego wśród wychowanków Domu Dziecka w Chmielowicach. Teoretyczne podstawy modelu odnoszą się do teorii głównych i teorii szczegółowych. Natomiast założenia empiryczne sprowadzają się do metodyki konstruowania programów profilaktycznych, a więc kryteriów doboru i metod oddziaływań profilaktycznych, uczestników oraz strategii ewaluacyjnej. Validation and Measurement Invariance of the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) in a Spanish General Sample

2020

Este artículo se encuentra disponible en la siguiente URL: https://www.mdpi.com/1660-4601/17/22/8359 Este artículo pertenece a la sección "Health behavior, chronic disease and health promotion". Well-being has been measured based on di erent perspectives in positive psychology. However, it is necessary to measure a ects and emotions correctly and to explore the independence of positive and negative a ect. This cross-sectional study adapts and validates the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) with a non-probabilistic sample of 821 Spanish adults. A confirmatory factor analysis confirmed two related factors with two correlated errors. The average variance extracted was 0.502 for…

Electrocatalytic properties of manganese and cobalt polyporphine films toward oxygen reduction reaction

2018

International audience; Novel member of polymetalloporphines, namely manganese polymetalloporphine of type I (pMnP-I) obtained by ion exchange from magnesium polyporphine of type I (pMgP-I) is reported for the first time and compared to its cobalt analogue (pCoP-I). Both polymer films have been obtained via two-step procedure: demetaladon of the pMgP-I electrode film via its exposure to trifluoroacetic acid solution, resulting in formation of the metal-free polyporphine of type I (pH(2)P-I) followed by electrochemically induced incorporation of Co or Mn ions from the acetonitrile solution of cobalt and manganese perchlorates. A further oxidative transformation of pCoP-I, polymer films has l…

Obesity and Mental Health: A Longitudinal, Cross-Cultural Examination in Germany and China

2021

The present study examines the relationship between obesity and mental health using longitudinal data. Participants with data at baseline and one-year follow-up were included from two countries: Germany (364) and China (9007). A series of structural equation models with three mediators and one moderator were conducted separately for female and male students in Germany and China. Zero-order correlations indicated that overweight/obesity was significantly related to later depression and anxiety in Chinese males. Additional effects of obesity on later mental health flowed through effects on attractiveness (Chinese and German females, and Chinese males), physical health (Chinese males), and lif…

Teachers' daily physiological stress and positive affect in relation to their general occupational well‐being

2023

Background Teachers' stress, affect and general occupational well-being influence their teaching and their students. However, how teachers' daily physiological stress and positive affect are related in the classroom is unknown. To reduce teachers' stress and enhance their positive affect, it is crucial to understand how occupational well-being relates to stress and affect. Aim The aim of the study was to examine the relationships between teachers' daily physiological stress and positive affect in authentic classroom settings and the roles played by teachers' self-efficacy beliefs, perceptions of school climate and burnout symptoms in daily stress and affect. Sample The sample consisted of 4…
