Evaluation eines standardisierten Trainings für die "Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale" (PANSS)

2000

Evaluation of different transvaginal sonographic diagnostic parameters in women with postmenopausal bleeding

1998

Objective To determine whether the accuracy of transvaginal sonography to detect endometrial pathology is enhanced by assessing endometrial morphology and the regularity of the endometrial border in addition to measurement of endometrial thickness in women with postmenopausal bleeding. Design and methods A total of 159 women with post-menopausal bleeding were included in a prospective study performed at the Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Mainz. The results obtained on transvaginal sonographic assessment of the endometrium were compared with the histological evaluation of the operative endometrial specimen. Results A cut-off level for endometrial thickness of 5 mm had a s…

Psychometric Comparisons of Benevolent and Corrective Humor across 22 Countries: The Virtue Gap in Humor Goes International

2018

Recently, two instances of virtue-related humor: benevolent and corrective, have been introduced. Benevolent humor treats human weaknesses and wrongdoings benevolently, while corrective humor aims at correcting and bettering them. Twelve marker items for benevolent and corrective humor (BenCor) were developed, and it was demonstrated that they fill the gap between humor as temperament and virtue. The present study investigates responses to the BenCor from 25 samples in 22 countries (overall N = 7, 226). The psychometric properties of the BenCor were found to be sufficient in most of the samples, including internal consistency, unidimensionality, and factorial validity. Importantly, benevole…

Cross-reactivity between tumor MHC class I-restricted antigens and an enterococcal bacteriophage

2020

International audience; Intestinal microbiota have been proposed to induce commensal-specific memory T cells that cross-react with tumor-associated antigens. We identified major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I-binding epitopes in the tail length tape measure protein (TMP) of a prophage found in the genome of the bacteriophage Enterococcus hirae Mice bearing E. hirae harboring this prophage mounted a TMP-specific H-2Kb-restricted CD8+ T lymphocyte response upon immunotherapy with cyclophosphamide or anti-PD-1 antibodies. Administration of bacterial strains engineered to express the TMP epitope improved immunotherapy in mice. In renal and lung cancer patients, the presence of the ent…

Klinische Bedeutung des Hepatitis-B-Virus-DNS-Nachweises im Serum von Kindern mit chronischer Hepatitis B

1992

206 sera from 172 children with chronic hepatitis B infection were tested for HBV DNA by dot blot hybridization. 111 were positive and 95 negative for HBV DNA. 103 (78.6%) of the positive patients had HBeAg and 5 (7.7%) anti-HBe. In 60 (92.3%) of the anti-HBe positive sera no HBV DNA could be detected. Children with elevated liver enzymes had HBV DNA in 80.1%, whereas in 71.6% of the chronic HBsAg carriers with normal liver enzymes no HBV DNA was found. In 87 of the 95 dot blot negative patients polymerase chain reaction was performed. 73 (83.9%) children of this group were HBV DNA positive. All HBeAg positive patients and those with elevated aminotransferases had HBV DNA in their serum. 56…

Fulvestrant and trastuzumab in patients with luminal HER2-positive advanced breast cancer (ABC): an Italian real-world experience (HERMIONE 9)

2021

Purpose: The most appropriate therapy for HR + /HER2-positive (HER2 +) advanced breast cancer (ABC) is a matter of debate. Co-targeting of both receptors represents an attractive strategy to overcome the cross-talk between them. Methods: The HERMIONE 9 is an observational retrospective multicentric study which aimed to describe the clinical outcome of patients with HR + /HER2 + ABC who received the combination of Fulvestrant (F) and Trastuzumab (T) as part of their routine treatment at 10 Italian Institutions. Results: Eighty-seven patients were included. Median age was 63 (range, 35–87) years. The median number of previous treatments was 3 (range, 0–10) and F and T were administered as ≥ 3…

Quantification of CD8+ T lymphocytes responsive to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) peptide antigens in HIV-infected patients and seronegative pers…

1998

/ T cells responding to HIV-1 peptides were observed in none of 11 HIV- seronegative donors without a history of HIV exposure. ELISPOT assays are relatively fast and easy to perform and appear to reliably detect T cell reactivity due to previous exposure to HIV. These findings support the use of the ELISPOT assay for monitoring T cell responsiveness to HIV peptides. In acute infection with the human immunodeficiency virus We described recently an enzyme-linked immunospot (ELISPOT) assay to detect and quantitate single blood-de- type 1 (HIV-1), initial reduction in virus load is associated with the appearance of a high frequency of antiviral cytotoxic T rived CD8 / T lymphocytes forming tumo…

False-positive LSD testing in urine samples from intensive care patients.

1998

Unexpected positive results for lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) were found in urine samples from 12 patients in an intensive care unit in a routine screening using the CEDIA DAU assay. None of these test results could be confirmed by high-performance liquid chromatography analysis, but all samples contained the mucolytic drug ambroxol. Further studies demonstrated that ambroxol exhibits a significant cross-reactivity in the CEDIA DAU LSD assay. Therefore, positive LSD results obtained with the CEDIA DAU assay have to be critically evaluated, particularly during the cold season, when infections of the respiratory tract often result in more frequent use of mucolytic medications.
