Megalencephaly-CApillary malformation-Polymicrogyria (MCAP) syndrome results from somatic mosaic gain-of-function variants in PIK3CA. Main features are macrocephaly, somatic overgrowth, cutaneous vascular malformations, connective tissue dysplasia, neurodevelopmental delay, and brain anomalies. The objectives of this study were to describe the clinical and radiological features of MCAP, to suggest relevant clinical endpoints applicable in future trials of targeted drug therapy. Background: The Beginning Breastfeeding Survey-Cumulative (BBSC) is an instrument that assesses the overall maternal perception of breastfeeding effectiveness during the early postpartum period. Research aims: The aims of this study were to adapt and validate a Spanish version of the BBSC and provide new evidence regarding its validity. Methods: A standard forward and back-translation process was used to obtain the Spanish version of the questionnaire (BBSC-E). A sample of 793 breastfeeding mothers was used. Pre- and postnatal treatment with 5-methoxytryptamine (5MT), a non-selective serotonergic agonist, and early handling, reduce the number of 5-HT1A receptors in neonatal and pre-pubertal rat progeny. Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt, vai dzemdību veids – ķeizargrieziens vai dzemdības pa dabīgiem ceļiem, ietekmē mātes pēcdzemdību psiho-emocionālo status un mātes-bērna saiknes izveidošanos. Mātes emocionālais stāvoklis tika novērtēts ar tā saucamo Edinburgas Pēcdzemdību Depresijas Skalu (EPDS). Skala tika iekļauta pētījumā izmantotā anketā, kuru aizpildīja pētījuma dalībnieces. Ar EPDS nosaka mātes risku uz pēcdzemdību depresijas attīstību, kur iegūto punktu skaitu interpretē sekojoši: 0-9 punkti nozīmē zemu, 9-13 vidējo un >13 punktiem augstu risku uz pēcdzemdību depresijas attīstību. Postnatal overfeeding in rats leads to moderate overweight and to cardiometabolic and oxidative alterations in adulthood.

In contrast to the masses of data on obesity, few data are available concerning the cardiometabolic and oxidative consequences of moderate overweight. The model of postnatal overfeeding (OF) induces an increase in body weight at weaning that remains during adult life. Litters of Wistar rats were either maintained at 12 pups (normal-fed group, NF), or reduced to 3 pups at birth in order to induce OF. At 6 months of age, metabolic parameters, circulating oxidative stress and aortic and coronary vasoreactivity were assessed. To study both short- and long-term adaptation mechanisms activated by rabbits which were separated from their mothers (DLS) for 48 h between postnatal days 9 and 11, we examined plasma corticosterone concentrations before, during, and after DLS as well as the expression of glucocorticoid receptor (GR) in the hippocampus and the adrenal axis responses to a mild stress stimuli or exogenous ACTH injection.
