Crystal data for Ca(HSeO3)2 · H2O: a = 6.911(2), b = 7.369(2), c = 6.739(2) A, α = 90.51(3)°, β = 90.93(3)°, γ = 107.46(2)°, V = 327.3(2) A3, space group P 1 (No. 2), dcalcd = 3.19 M gm−3, Z = 2, and R = 0.036 for 1503 reflections. Six- and seven-membered cyclic hydroxamic acids, such as 1-hydroxypiperidine-2-one (1H, 1,2-PIPOH) and 1-hydroxyazepan-2-one (2H), have recently been identified in some mixed siderophores as one of their three chelating subunits. Compared to their ubiquitous noncyclic counterparts, cyclic hydroxamates are preorganized for metal binding. Surprisingly, the coordination chemistry of these bidentate, monoanionic ligands remains virtually unknown, even in the case of iron(III). Abstract Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and optical investigations of NaNdGa 4 S 8 show that Nd 3+ ions are essentially distributed in two of the three square antiprismatic sites of a CaGa 2 S 4 -type lattice. The NdS 8 polyhedra are isolated (minimum NdNd distance: 6.07 A) so the interactions responsible for concentration quenching of the luminescence are considerably reduced

Abstract Hf5Sb3 can be prepared by arc-melting of hafnium and previously synthesized HfSb2. It crystallizes like the high-temperature modification of Zr5Sb3 in the Y5Bi3 structure type, space group Pnma, Z=4, a=740.75(9) pm, b=871.8(1) pm, c=1073.6(1) pm, V=693.3(1) 106pm3. An antimonide analogous to the low-temperature form of Zr5Sb3 was not obtained during our investigations. In the structure of Hf5Sb3, the Hf atoms form a three-dimensional network with numerous short Hf–Hf contacts, including the Sb atoms in severely distorted two- and three-capped trigonal prismatic voids. Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valoda uz 47 lapām. Tas satur 28 attēlus, 2 tabulas un 42 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Maģistra darba mērķis ir nodemonstrēt optometrisko rehabilitācijas metožu ietekmi uz infantilu idiopātisko nistagmu (IIN). Desmit pacientiem ar IIN (30 ± 14 g.) tika veiktas sekojošas ārstēšanas metodes: prizmas ar bāzi uz āru, krāsotas kontaktlēcas (zīlītes diametrs 5 mm), audio-biofīdbeka metode. Pirms un pēc ārstēšanas tika novērtēts redzes asums un kontrastredze tālumā un stereoredze tuvumā ar labāko subjektīvo korekciju, nistagma apmlitūda un frekvence.
