Tutkielmani käsittelee Abe Shinzon ensimmäisen pääministerikauden (2006–2007) proaktiivisia ulkopoliittisia strategioita. Tarkasteluni keskiössä ovat sekä pääministeri Abe Shinzon esittämä proaktiivisen diplomatian strategia että hänen ulkoministerinsä Aso Taron esittämä vapauden ja vaurauden kaaren strategia. Kysyn tutkielmassani, millaisia turvallisuuspoliittisia päämääriä näiden proaktiivisten ulkopoliittisten strategioiden esittämiselle on hahmotettavissa. Strategic renewal : Can it be done profitably?

Industry transformation requires strategic renewal at the level of individual firms. Executives then face the dilemma of choosing renewal paths in the face of uncertainty over the competitive environment of the future, and hence the profitability of potential strategies. This dilemma motivates us to study industry transformation from the perspective of strategic renewal among 208 large firms in the global pulp and paper industry. The findings of our qualitative comparative analysis show that only a minority of firms in our sample succeeded in profitable proactive renewal. Tutkielmassa on analysoitu vertikaalisen luottamuksen muodostumista yhdeksässä organisaatiossa. Tutkielma on sekundaarianalyysi aineistosta, joka on kerätty Tomi Oinaan, Pertti Jokivuoren ja Kaj Ilmosen Työaikapankki – Haavetta ja todellisuutta-tutkimukseen. Tutkielman aineistona on survey-aineisto, jonka pohjana on 493 lomaketta. Aineiston analyysi on tehty SPSS-ohjelmistolla määrällisin menetelmin. Tehtävänä oli selvittää, millaisista asioista vertikaalinen luottamus eli luottamus johtoon syntyy. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää esimies-alaissuhteen laadun vaikutusta työntekijöiden ympäristöaloitteiden tekoon ja toisaalta aloitteiden toteuttamiseen yrityksessä. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin ympäristöasioiden hoitoon liittyvistä epäkohdista raportoimista ja proaktiivisuuden tutkimuskenttään kuuluvaa ilmiötä vaikenemisesta. Lisätäksemme ymmärrystä johtajuuden vaikutusmekanismeista aloiteprosessin eri vaiheissa kyselytutkimuksessa mitattiin myös yrityksen aloitteellisuutta tukevaa ilmapiiriä. Pētījuma „ Darba-ģimenes konflikta saistība ar proaktīvas personības iezīmēm” mērķis bija noskaidrot, kā proaktīva personība ir saistīta ar darba-ģimenes konfliktiem. Pētījumā piedalījās 141 respondents, vecumā no 20 līdz 63 gadiem (M=35,67; SD=11,01), 37 vīrieši un 104 sievietes. Izlase tika veidota pēc brīvprātības principa. Tika veidota viena grupa. Visi respondenti bija nodarbinātie, un dzīvo kopā ar partneri (reģistrētā vai nereģistrētā laulībā), vai nedzīvo kopa ar partneri, bet audzina vismaz vienu bērnu. Abstract In this paper, a probabilistic approach for the evaluation of the adaptation time for elastic perfectly plastic frames is proposed. The considered load history acting on the structure is defined as a suitable combination of quasi-statical loads and seismic actions. The proposed approach utilizes the Monte Carlo method in order to generate a suitable large number of seismic acceleration histories and for each one the related load combination is defined. Study engagement and burnout profiles among Finnish higher education students

A person-oriented approach was applied to identify profiles of study engagement and burnout (i.e., exhaustion, cynicism, inadequacy) in higher education in a large and representative sample of 12,394 higher education students at different phases of their studies in universities and polytechnics in Finland. Four profiles were identified: Engaged (44%), engaged-exhausted (30%) inefficacious (19%) and burned-out (7%). The engaged students had the most positive engagement accompanied with the least burnout symptoms compared to other groups. Few studies examine relationships between intercultural strategies and adaptation among adolescents using a person-oriented approach. Framed from an intercultural psychology perspective, this study used such an approach in order to examine the influence of intercultural profiles, patterns of relationships among variables related to intercultural strategies, on the adaptation of adolescents of both non-dominant and dominant groups. Proteins are the molecular players of fine-tuned regulatory pathways that underlie the behavior of any cell type. Derangement of this wide protein circuitry has a profound effect on cell life and ultimately contributes to the development of diseases such as cancer. New proteomic technologies are rapidly evolving to define and characterize the nodes of this altered protein network, both inside and outside cancer cells. Hopefully, these technologies will become user-friendly laboratory tools to improve cancer management from early detection to the development of rational and patient-tailored therapeutic strategies.
