Regional models based on Multi-Gene Genetic Programming for the simulation of monthly runoff series

Accurate estimates of runoff in river basins are useful for several applications. The use of data-driven procedures for simulating the complex runoff generation process is a promising frontier that could allow for overcoming some typical problems related to more complex traditional approaches. In this paper we present the results obtained by applying our automatic forecasting support system, named SIOPRED, over a data set of time series in a Forecasting Blind Competition. Implementation of JPEG2000 arithmetic decoder using dynamic reconfiguration of FPGA

This paper describes implementation of a part of JPEG2000 algorithm (MQ-Decoder and arithmetic decoder) on a FPGA board using dynamic reconfiguration. Comparison between static and dynamic reconfiguration is presented and new analysis criteria (time performance, logic cost, spatio-temporal efficiency) are defined. MQ-decoder and arithmetic decoder can be classified in the most attractive case for dynamic reconfiguration implementation: applications without parallelism by functions. Java-based simulation environments are currently used by many multiagent systems (MAS), since they mainly provide portability as well as an interesting reduction of the development cost. However, this kind of MAS are rarely considered when developing interactive applications with time response constraints. Graph grammar engineering: A software specification method

Graphs as conceptual data models are accepted and used in a wide range of different problem areas. Giving some examples we outline common aspects for modeling complex structures by graphs. We present a formal frame-work based on graph grammars to specify graph classes and the corresponding graph manipulations.
