Zur Penetrationskinetik von Dehydroepiandrosteron durch die Erythrocytenmembran
1981
Hepatitis Virus Reactivation in Patients with Psoriasis Treated with Secukinumab in a Real-World Setting of Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C Infection
2022
Background and Objective Biologics for psoriasis, especially anti-tumor necrosis factor-alpha therapies, may reactivate hepatitis B virus (HBV) or hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections, as well in inactive carriers or patients with occult infection. However, some biologics, including anti-interleukin-17 therapies such as secukinumab, seem to be less likely to cause hepatitis reactivation. This study assessed the safety of secukinumab treatment in patients with psoriasis with HBV or HBC infection. Methods This was a retrospective cohort study of patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis treated with secukinumab at seven Italian centers. Patients serologically positive for one or more of the fo…

TAP-polymorphisms in juvenile onset psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
1996
Abstract Juvenile onset psoriasis is strongly associated with the HLA-class I genes Cw6 and B57 whereas patients with psoriatic arthritis show an increased frequency of HLA-B27. It is unclear whether additional major histocompatibility genes also increase disease susceptibility. The TAP genes (transporter associated with antigen processing) encode two membrane-spanning proteins that translocate antigenic peptides from the cytoplasm into the endoplasmic reticulum. Comparison of 60 patients with juvenile onset psoriasis, 63 psoriatic arthritis patients, and 101 caucasoid controls revealed an increase of the TAP1 ∗ 0101 allele in the psoriasis group, that could not be explained by linkage to o…
Anti-inflammatory Therapies for Cardiovascular Disease: Signaling Pathways and Mechanisms
2019
Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the clinical manifestation of atherosclerosis, a chronic inflammatory disease promoted by several risk factors such as dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and smoking. Acute CVD events are the result of an unresolved inflammatory chronic state that promotes the rupture of unstable plaque lesions. Of note, the existing intensive therapies modify risk factors but do not prevent life-threatening recurrent ischemic events in high-risk patients, who have a residual inflammatory risk displayed by increased C-reactive protein (CRP) levels. Better understanding of the role of innate and adaptive immunity in plaque development and rupture has led t…
Advances in antioxidant phytochemical for inflammatory skin diseases: mangiferin and naringin nanocarriers based lipids
2020
Chronic inflammatory skin diseases are the most common topical disorders and the fourth cause of global disability. Among all, psoriasis (PS) and atopic dermatitis (AD) are the most frequent chronic and recurrent inflammatory diseases of the skin. Atopic dermatitis has a strong Th2 factor while psoriasis is a disease driven by Th17. The actual treatment, which involve the combination of topical, systemic and biological therapy, is characterized by numerous adverse effects, which reduce patient compliance, lead to the limitation of long-term use and limit the therapeutic efficacy. Therefore, there is a great need for the continuous development of novel, effective and safe coadjuvant treatmen…

Characterization of disease-specific cellular abundance profiles of chronic inflammatory skin conditions from deconvolution of biopsy samples
2019
Background Psoriasis and atopic dermatitis are two inflammatory skin diseases with a high prevalence and a significant burden on the patients. Underlying molecular mechanisms include chronic inflammation and abnormal proliferation. However, the cell types contributing to these molecular mechanisms are much less understood. Recently, deconvolution methodologies have allowed the digital quantification of cell types in bulk tissue based on mRNA expression data from biopsies. Using these methods to study the cellular composition of the skin enables the rapid enumeration of multiple cell types, providing insight into the numerical changes of cell types associated with chronic inflammatory skin c…
