COMPARISON OF T-1 ESTIMATION TECHNIQUES IN CARDIAC MRI

International audience; Abstract: We have shown that the use of a simple combination of inversion recovery/spin-echo (IR/SE) sequences provides undeniably superior precision in quantitative in vivo myocardium T-1 estimation than the standard multiple spin-echo approach. On a group of 25 healthy subjects, the T-1 dispersion was, respectively, 3.8% for the IR/SE combination and 19.6% for the best SE pair combination. Moreover, repeated measurements were carried out on seven of the volunteers in order to assess T-1 reproducibility. Testosterone (T) is thought to play a key role in male–male competition and courtship in many vertebrates, but its precise effects are unclear. We explored whether courtship behaviour in humans is modulated and preceded by changes in T. Pairs of healthy male students first competed in a non-physical contest in which their T levels became elevated. Each participant then had a short, informal interaction with either an unfamiliar man or woman. The sex of the stimulus person did not affect the participants' behaviour overall. The chemoimmunotherapy FCR (fludarabine and cyclophosphamide with rituximab) is the standard first-line treatment for physically fit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patients. To assess the risks and benefits, we investigated health-related quality of life (HRQOL). 817 untreated CLL patients received either FC or FCR within the GCLLSG CLL8 trial. The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of life Questionnaire C30 was sent to all patients at baseline, after 3, 6, and 12 months and then yearly as follow-up. The purpose of the study was to pilot-test a questionnaire measuring health-related quality of life (QoL) in thyroid cancer patients to be used with the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) core questionnaire EORTC QLQ-C30. A provisional questionnaire with 47 items was administered to patients treated for thyroid cancer within the last 2 years.
