Irregularity in Latin: gender and inflexional classes

The Author searches the Latin common nouns beginning with the letters from a- to i- in order to have a statistical datum of the frequency of grammatical genders and inflexional classes. Then, analysing the masculine nouns in –a and the feminine ones in –o, that appear exceptions to the normal trends of the gender assignment, she notices that the masculine in –a, which are complex words, constitute a productive class whereas the feminine in –o are weak and subject to change of gender and declensional class. Dzimtes piešķiršana anglicismiem itāļu valodā

Bakalaura darbs ir korpusā balstīts pētījums, kura mērķis ir izpētīt dzimtes piešķiršanas mehānismus anglicismiem itāļu valodā. Pētījums turpina un paplašina Thornton (2003 A, 2003 B) teorijas par dzimtes piešķiršanas likumiem. Empīriskajā daļā tiek izveidots anglicismu, kuru dzimte nosakāma no konteksta, korpuss, izmantojot itāļu valodas korpusus LIP (1994) un itWaC Sample (2016). Tad tie tiek grupēti pēc stratēģijas, kas izmantota to dzimtes piešķiršanai. Iegūtie rezultāti rāda, ka visbiežāk anglicismi itāļu valodā dzimti iegūst pēc analoģijas ar to tulkojumu vai pēc pazīstama piedēkļa. A Grammar of Central Trentino

Central Trentino is a Romance dialect spoken in the North-East of Italy, which shows features belonging to both Gallo-Italic and Venetan dialects. Grammar of Central Trentino aims to present the first comprehensive grammatical description of this dialect, taking into consideration its morpho-syntactic properties and pragmatic phenomena. The book's general approach is synchronic and focused on the language currently in use. The authors discuss a wide range of examples gathered from both oral and written sources. The theoretical reference model is that of generative grammar, but the description of the phenomena is also accessible to a non-specialized audience.

Purpose The purpose of this paper seeks to develop a motivation-based complementary framework for temporally dynamic user preferences to facilitate optimal timing in web personalisation. It also aims to highlight the benefits of considering user motivation when addressing issues in temporal dynamics.  As of January 2020, all Finnish pupils are to start their foreign language studies in the first grade. This study examined the effects of early language teaching by comparing pupils in grades 1, 2 and 3. The pupils had started studying English in August 2017 and had all had roughly the same number of English lessons by the time of the study in early 2018. The study examined pupils’ attitudes towards English and studying English as well as how pupils use English in their free time. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, vai ir iespējama drāmas elementu izmantošana pamatskolas angļu valodas stundās un noskaidrot vai tā attīsta izglītojamo gramatikas kompetenci. Gezeigt wird, dass die linguistische Aufbereitung authentischer, u.U. komplexer Fachtexte der gleichzeitigen Vermittlung von fachlichen Grundbegriffen und Fachsprache dienen kann. Dem Zusammenspiel zwischen Mikro- und Makroebene entsprechend erfolgt die Analyse auf textlinguistischem und kognitiv-semantischem Niveau.
