Ar CVD metodi sintezētu dimanta kristālu Ramana spektroskopija

2021

Correlative Raman-Electron-Light (CREL) Microscopy Analysis of Lipid Droplets in Melanoma Cancer Stem Cells.

2022

Among all neoplasms, melanoma is characterized by a very high percentage of cancer stem cells (CSCs). Several markers have been proposed for their identification, and lipid droplets (LDs) are among them. Different techniques are used for their characterization such as mass spectrometry, imaging techniques, and vibrational spectroscopies. Some emerging experimental approaches for the study of LDs are represented by correlative light–electron microscopy and by correlative Raman imaging–scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Based on these scientific approaches, we developed a novel methodology (CREL) by combining Raman micro-spectroscopy, confocal fluorescence microscopy, and SEM coupled with an…

Electron Irradiation Effects on Single‐Layer MoS 2 Obtained by Gold‐Assisted Exfoliation

2022

International audience; Mechanical exfoliation assisted by gold is applied to obtain good quality large lateral size single-layer MoS2. The effects of 2.5 MeV electron irradiation are investigated at room temperature on structural and electronic features by Raman and microluminescence spectroscopy. The exciton recombination emission in the direct bandgap of single-layer MoS2 is affected during irradiation starting from the minimum explored dose of 1 kGy. At higher doses, Raman bands show no relevant modifications whereas the exciton emission is quenched, suggesting that irradiation-induced point defects affect exciton dynamics.

Non-linear interactions of femtosecond laser pulses with graphene : photo-oxidation, imaging and photodynamics

2017

This thesis presents a study focused on interactions of femtosecond laser pulses with graphene, a one atom thick carbon membrane. Graphene, which exhibits exceptional electronic and optoelectronic properties, could provide considerable advantage over current silicon-based electronics. Graphene alone, being semi-metal, is not sufficient for electronic applications, but requires modification. For this, a set of methods for modifying and measuring the properties of graphene was developed. With the perspective of making graphene a suitable component for electronics, optoelectronics or photonics, ultrashort laser pulses were used for drawing patterns on graphene. The procedure modifies graphene …

Dielectrophoretic trapping and Raman spectroscopy of fluorescent oligonucleotides

2016

DNA on yksi mielenkiintoisista nanotieteen tutkimuskohteista. Se on elämän kannalta merkittävä molekyyli, sillä se pitää sisällään elävän organismin rakenteellisen ohjeen. DNA:…

Analysis of Caffeine, Sweeteners, and Other Additives in Beverages by Vibrational Spectroscopy

2001

This chapter presents a review of the scientific literature on the use of vibrational spectroscopy, near-infrared (NIR), mid-infrared (mid-IR), and Raman, for the analysis of caffeine, sweeteners, and other additives in beverages and related products. Direct analysis procedures of coffee and tea, for both classification according to precedence or variety and quantitative determination of caffeine, are available. For beverage analysis, caffeine has been determined by direct attenuated total reflection (ATR) measurement or by transmission spectroscopy in the mid-IR region after extraction with chloroform. Different strategies have been employed for the analysis of sweeteners in beverages and …

The role of hydrochlorofluorocarbon densifiers in the formation of clathrate hydrates in deep boreholes and subglacial environments

2007

AbstractClear evidence for the formation of mixed clathrate hydrates of air and hydrochlorofluorocarbon densifier (known as HCFC-141b, sometimes also called R-141b) is found by means of synchrotron X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy on a sample recovered from the bottom of the EPICA Dronning Maud Land deep borehole in Antarctica. Subglacial water (SGW) appears to have reacted with the drilling liquid to build a large lump of clathrate hydrate. The hydrate growth may well have been accelerated by the stirring of the SGW–densifier mixture during drilling. Moreover, dissolved air in the SGW appears to have participated in the formation of mixed hydrates of air and HCFC-141b as evidenced …

The nature of black stains in Lascaux Cave, France, as revealed by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy

2011

We used surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy to investigate the chemical composition of the black stains threatening the rock-art paintings of Lascaux Cave, Montignac, France. The stains are mainly composed of melanin from the fungus Ochroconis sp. and the faecal pellets of the collembolan Folsomia candida. Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy is a useful technique for revealing the structure of unknown macromolecules in cultural heritage research. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Graphene oxide and Fumed silica graphene oxide nanocomposites modification by thermal treatments

2014

In the present study we investigate post synthesis thermal treatments up to 400 °C of graphene oxide (GrO) prepared from commercial graphite and of GrO–silica nanocomposites prepared by a solution of commercial Fumed silica nanoparticles (average diameter 7 nm or 40 nm) and the GrO. The thermal treatments were carried out in air, vacuum or He atmosphere to highlight tunable changes. Two GrO batches with small differences in the D (~1350 cm–1) and G (~1580 cm–1) Raman bands have been employed to evaluate effects depending on preparation. Thermal effects have been monitored through the Raman spectroscopy focusing on D, G and 2D (2500–3500 cm–1) bands spectral ranges. The experiments evidenced…

Suspended graphene device fabrication

2016

Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman aiheena oli tutkia itsekantavien grafeeninäytteiden valmistusta. Grafeeni syntetisoitiin kaasufaasikasvatuksella ilmakehän paineessa kupariohutkalvoille. Kupariohutkalvot valmistattiin käyttämällä elektronisuihkuhöyrystystä. Projektin aikana synteesiprosessia parannettiin optimoimalla synteesiparametreja.
