South (2016) et North (2018) de Frank Owen : diptyque post-apocalyptique américain ou sud-africain ?

National audience; La présente communication se propose d'examiner les représentations d'un avenir post-apocalyptique dans le diptyque South (2016) et North (2018) de Frank Owen et de s'interroger sur une possible hybridation des imaginaires post-apocalyptiques. Bien qu'écrits par un duo d'auteurs sud-africains (Frank Owen étant en réalité le pseudonyme adopté par Diane Awerbuck et Alex Latimer pour écrire ces romans à quatre mains), South et North se déroulent tous deux aux Etats-Unis. Dans le monde post-apocalyptique dépeint dans le diptyque, le pays est divisé en deux et des vents mortels soufflent sur le sud, décimant la population, qui a dû retourner à un mode de vie primitif où domine…

Petit essai d'analyse généalogique : 200 Motels de Frank Zappa (1971)

International audience; Dans cet article, je me propose d'analyser le film" 200 Motels" (1971) de Frank Zappa à partir de deux généalogies. Tout d'abord, les spectacles et les formes de divertissements qui sont apparus en Amérique du Nord au 19e et au début du 20e siècle. Ensuite, le cinéma musical hollywoodien de 1929 à 1960. Après avoir sommairement présenté ces deux corpus, je m'efforcerai de penser le film de Zappa à l'aune de ces deux mondes et de certaines de leurs caractéristiques. Je conclurai par une réflexion à propos des méthodes d'analyses que l'on peut mobiliser pour aborder un film musical et le répertoire rock.

Ranking has arrived to be compulsory for all countries as a tool to compete in the global world. The ranking’s rules are settled by some couples of global rankers. When their practices are implemented into national environments, mainly in countries under transition, some perverted effects might appear. The paper focuses on effects on politic environments and their follow up on academic communities, students and parents, and civil society as an effect of mass media involvement. The theoretical issues are illustrated by the outcomes in Romania particularly as a consequence of the application of the Educational Law since January 2011.

The world is in crisis. The academic system, its core, too. It has to reorganise, to reform itself. Several steps were taken by developed countries but also the emerging ones or the new comers. In Romania, a new Education Low has settled a deep reform for universities. Observing the academic autonomy, each university has to find its new way according to the principles of the Education Low. Our case study refers on a middle seize university of regional vocation. The paper investigate the main factors to be considered on general context, national context and the university’s one in the process of reforming and restructuring the university.

Emotional and behavioral difficulties in adolescence: Relationship with emotional well-being, affect, and academic performance

Abstract The main purpose of this study was to examine difficulties in behavioral and emotional adjustment and their relationship to subjective well-being, positive and negative affect, and academic performance in a representative sample of nonclinical adolescents. The sample consisted of a total of 1,664 participants (M = 16.12 years, SD = 1.36, range 14-19 years), selected through stratified cluster sampling.
