Upper limits on the isotropic gravitational-wave background from Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo's third observing run

We report results of a search for an isotropic gravitational-wave background (GWB) using data from Advanced LIGO's and Advanced Virgo's third observing run (O3) combined with upper limits from the earlier O1 and O2 runs. Unlike in previous observing runs in the advanced detector era, we include Virgo in the search for the GWB. The results are consistent with uncorrelated noise, and therefore we place upper limits on the strength of the GWB. We find that the dimensionless energy density $\Omega_{\rm GW}\leq 5.8\times 10^{-9}$ at the 95% credible level for a flat (frequency-independent) GWB, using a prior which is uniform in the log of the strength of the GWB, with 99% of the sensitivity comi…
Concordant Intestinal Atresia in Two Pairs of Monozygotic Twins

Intestinal atresia in both twins from the same pregnancy is very rare. Only seven pairs of twins have been described. The authors report on two cases of monozygotic twins with different types of intestinal atresia and clinical evolution. Both pairs of observed twins turned out to be concordant for the presence of intestinal malformations and for the absence of other linked malformations; nevertheless, the atresic lesions were anatomically discordant in each pair of monozygotic twins. Therefore, the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures have shown some differences in phenotypic expression between the twins of both pairs. Mūsdienu pasauli raksturo tehnoloģiju straujā attīstība, kā arī angļu valodas kā lingua franca statusa nostiprināšanās. Diplomdarba mērķis ir atrast rīku, kas nodrošinātu jauniešiem nepieciešamās svešvalodas prasmes. Pētījumā tika ievākti dati no 203 anketām un piecām intervijām ar mērķi noskaidrot vidusskolas skolēnu valodas apguves ieradumus. Pētījums atklāja, ka vidusskolas skolēni savā ikdienā plaši pielieto tehnoloģijas un ir atvērti tehnoloģijās balstītai svešvalodas apguvei. Tādēļ izaicinājumi, kurus rada angļu valodas kā svešvalodas apguve, piemēram, gramatika, idiomas un pareizrakstība, varētu tikt risināti ar tehnoloģiju starpniecību. The chapter explicates the central resources that classical Husserlian phenomenology and its contemporary elaborations offer for the study of psychic disorders. We shall first discuss the phenomenological principles that enable analysis of the conditions and limits of experiencing and sense-constitution.
