Diorganotin(IV) dipeptide complexes with potential antitumour activity
1993
A series of complexes of the dimethylltin(IV) moiety with dipeptides has been synthesized. The dipeptides are L-alanyl-L-histidine (H2AlaHis), L-methionyl-L-methionine (H2MetMet), L-glycyl-L-histidine (H2GlyHis) and L-histidyl-L-glycine (H2HisGly). The complexes have been characterized by IR and 119Sn Mossbauer spectroscopy in the solid state and by 1H NMR in CD3OD and D2O solutions. They consist of monomeric entities, with the tin atom arranged in a pentacoordinated trigonal bipyramidal structure. The dipeptides are coordinated via the amino group, deprotonated peptide nitrogen and carboxylate group. Neither imidazole in histidine-containing dipetides, nor the thioether group in MetMet, is…
Complexes of tryptophan dipeptides with the R2Sn(IV)2+ ion (R=Me, Ph): Spectroscopic studies, solution properties and structural implications
1995
Tryptophan dipeptides such as L-tryptophyl-L-alanine (H 2 TrpAla), L-tryptophyl-L-tyrosine (H 2 TrpTyr), L-tryptophyl-L-tryptophan (H 2 TrpTrp), along with L-histidyl-L-tyrosine (H 2 HisTyr), were reacted with R 2 SnO (R=Me, Ph) yielding the corresponding complexes. The complexes have been characterized by IR and 119 Sn Mossbauer spectroscopy in the solid state and by 1 H and 13 C NMR in CD 3 OD solutions. Monomeric species were detected, with the tin atom arranged in a pentacoordinated trigonal-bipyramidal structure. The dipeptides are coordinated via the terminal amino group, deprotonated peptide nitrogen and terminal carboxylate group. No side-chain appears to be involved in bonding. Det…

Growth and characterization of GdxHg1−xSe crystals
2008
Abstract The growth of GdxHg1−xSe crystals by the vertical Bridgman method was studied in the composition range 0⩽x⩽0.1. The structural and electronic properties of GdxHg1−xSe crystals were investigated as a function of composition. It was found that an increase in gadolinium content up to x=0.01 results in a decrease of structural defects and an increase in electron mobility up to the maximum value of μ77≈2.8×105 cm2/V s. Structural defects start to increase at x>0.01, and the formation of Gd2Se3 amorphous phase takes place at x>0.03. On the base of the electron-spin resonance investigation, it was shown that the Gd incorporates into the HgSe host in Gd3+ charge state at the concentration …
New Triterpenoid and Ergostane Glycosides from the Leaves of Hydrocotyle umbellata L.
2011
Two new triterpenoid glycosides, together with two new ergostane glycosides, umbellatosides A–D (1–4, resp.), have been isolated from the leaves of Hydrocotyle umbellata L. Their structures were established by 2D-NMR spectroscopic techniques (1H,1H-COSY, TOCSY, NOESY, HSQC, and HMBC) and mass spectrometry as 3β,22β-dihydroxy-3-O-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(12)-β-D-glucuronopyranosyl]olean-12-en-28-oic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester (1), 3-O-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(12)-β-D-glucuronopyranosyl]oleanolic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester (2), (3β,11α,26)-ergosta-5,24(28)-diene-3,11,26-triol 3-O-(β-D-glucopyranosyl)-11-O-(α-L-rhamnopyranosyl)-26-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), and (3β,11α,21,26)-ergosta…
Multifunctional polymer-derivatized γ-Fe2O3 nanocrystals as a methodology for the biomagnetic separation of recombinant His-tagged proteins
2008
Abstract Multifunctional polymer-derivatized superparamagnetic iron oxide (γ-Fe2O3) nanoparticles were prepared for biomagnetic separation of histidine-tagged recombinant proteins building up a faster and efficient method for protein separation by making use of their intrinsic magnetic properties. Using polymer bound γ-Fe2O3 nanocrystals, a 6× histidine-tagged recombinant protein (silicatein) with a molecular weight of 24 kDa has been isolated and purified. The supermagnetic iron oxide nanocrystals were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution TEM (HRTEM), SQUID and Mossbauer and the polymer functionalization of the γ-Fe2O3 nanocrystals was monitored by UV–vi…
13C NMR spectra of eudesmanolides I—eudesman-12,6-olides
1987
The 13C NMR spectra of 26 eudesmanolides of natural and synthetic origin have been measured, including the naturally occurring sesquiterpene lactones artemisin, torrentin, rothin-A and rothin-B and several semi-synthetic eudesman-12,6-olides obtained from artemisin. The chemical shift values of the different compounds are compared and the effects of the substituents are discussed.
