How and When Do Leaders Influence Employees' Well-Being? Moderated Mediation Models for Job Demands and Resources

Following the call of recent reviews on leadership and well-being, the purpose of this study is to examine how and when two contrasting leadership styles, transformational leadership (TFL) and passive-avoidant leadership (PAL), are related to employees’ anxiety and thereby either promote or inhibit employees’ well-being. Using the prominent job demands-resources (JD-R) model as a theoretical framework, we propose that the relationship between leadership behavior and anxiety is mediated by organizational job demands, namely, role ambiguity (RA), and job resources, namely, team climate for learning (TCL), as well as moderated by autonomy as important job characteristic. Co-participation in Oral Paired Interviews: Preliminary Findings of the OPENPAU Project

Abstract The Ministry of Education is changing how Spanish University Entrance Examination (PAU) will be delivered in 2017. To test the construct, experimental oral interviews with potential candidates of the PAU were done. Purpose of Study: The research observed whether paired interviews favored the delivery and organization of the PAU test and if this type of delivery favors the students’ performance. Background. Surgical training in authentic work environments needs guidance practices, including simulation training within a competence-based framework. The use of simulators may actually have negative effects on professional learning if there is a lack of competence-based goals, tools, and guidance, integrated with work practices, and applied by trainers. Instructors' Competence for Enhancing Quality of In-House Training in Maritime Education

<p class="IATED-Affiliation">Improving instructors’ competence will enhance quality of maritime in-house training (IHT). The research question of this study was: what are the main features of a competent IHT instructor? A mixed-method study using interviews and a questionnaire was conducted among three groups of respondents: 1) safety managers, vetting and technical managers; 2) IHT instructors, and 3) seafarers (including masters, chief engineers, officers and ratings).
