In many countries, executive stock options (ESOs) have been subject to financial scandals during these last years, that encountered for a deep need of transparency, particularly about this compensation device for managers. The aim of this paper is to present, in a first part, the ways of expensing ESOs in through the European IRFS 2 and the American FAS 123 standards. The second part analyses ESOs accounting and its consequences, namely regarding the requirements about measuring this incentive mechanism at its fair value.
The matrix metalloproteinase and insulin-like growth factor system in oral cancer : a prospective clinical study

Aim The absence of reliable single serum biomarkers for oral premalignant lesion (OPL) and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) limits early diagnosis, monitoring of advanced disease, and prediction of prognosis. Methods In this prospective study, serum levels of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2, MMP-3, MMP-13, insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-1, and IGF-binding protein (IGFBP)-3 were measured in 81 untreated OSCC patients, 49 healthy subjects, and 75 individuals with OPLs, and correlated with clinicopathological parameters. Kontekstem badań była konstatacja, że wielu komentatorów różnie określa strukturę opisywanych fragmentów Księgi Ezechiela. Czytelnik może odnieść wrażenie, że jest to zrobione na wyczucie, a wyczucie nie jest metodą naukową. Dlatego celem przeprowadzonych badań było opracowanie struktury tekstu przy pomocy naukowych metod. Wykorzystano metodę retoryki hebrajskiej, którą opracował Roland Meynet. Šis darbs ir izveidots, lai noteiktu visplašāk izmantotos stāstījuma žanrus izvēlētajās ar zinātni saistītājās TEDxRiga runās, kā arī salīdzinātu tajās atrodamās popularizācijas diskursa valodas raksturiezīmes, kuras iegūtas šī darba veidošanas laikā, ar Mattiello (2017) pētījumu, kas veikts saistībā ar citām TED runām. Pētījumā izmantotā metode ir satura analīze. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka stāstījumi ir neatņemama TED runu žanra sastāvdaļa un atstāstījumi ir visplašāk izmantotais stāstījumu žanrs analizētājās runās. Iron reduction in subseafloor sulfate-depleted and methane-rich marine sediments is currently a subject of interest in subsurface geomicrobiology. While iron reduction and microorganisms involved have been well studied in marine surface sediments, little is known about microorganisms responsible for iron reduction in deep methanic sediments.
