Repetition suppression versus enhancement — it's quantity that matters

Upon repetition, certain stimuli induce reduced neural responses (i.e., repetition suppression), whereas others evoke stronger signals (i.e., repetition enhancement). It has been hypothesized that stimulus properties (e.g., visibility) determine the direction of the repetition effect. Here, we show that the very same stimuli can induce both repetition suppression and enhancement, whereby the only determining factor is the number of repetitions. Preferential patterns of myocardial iron overload by multislice multiecho T2* CMR in thalassemia major patients.

This study aimed to determine if there were preferential patterns of myocardial iron overload in thalassemia major. Five hundred twenty-three thalassemia major patients underwent cardiac MR. This study examined the hypothesis that gender identity and biological sex represent independent modules and that transgender individuals respond to romantic rivals in line with their gender identity and not with their biological sex. The flavonol quercetin, is one of the major flavonoids found in edible plants. The bioavailability of quercetin in humans may be influenced by the food matrix in which it is consumed as well as by its chemical and physical form. Abstract Introduction There is a lack of supporting evidence for conservative treatments involving Morton’s Neuroma, which has often a clinical presentation with many associated complications such as functional impairment and chronic pain. Abstract Background Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is a neurocutaneous syndrome, due to heterozygous pathogenic variants in NF1 gene. The main clinical manifestations are multiple café au lait spots, axillary and inguinal freckling, cutaneous and plexiform neurofibromas, optic glioma, Lisch nodules and osseous lesions, such as sphenoid and tibial dysplasia. Pharmacokinetics of Droloxifene and Its Metabolites in Breast Cancer Patients

Pharmacokinetics and metabolism of droloxifene, a new antiestrogenic drug, have been investigated by single- and multiple-dose studies in postmenopausal patients with advanced breast cancer. Short terminal elimination half-life, low accumulation, and improved drug tolerability are the most striking features of this safe and effective new antiestrogen. Bioequivalence of film-coated tablet, tablet, and standard solution of droloxifene has been shown. The concentrations of droloxifene and its metabolites have been determined by a highly selective HPLC method.
