Experimental and DFT studies on competitive heterocyclic rearrangements. part 2: A one-atom side-chain versus the classic three-atom side-chain (Boul…
2007
The experimental investigation of the base-catalyzed rearrangements of 3-acylamino-1,2,4-oxadiazoles evidenced a new reaction pathway which competes with the well-known ring-degenerate Boulton- Katritzky rearrangement (BKR). The new reaction consists of a one-atom side-chain rearrangement that is base-activated, occurs at a higher temperature than the BKR, and irreversibly leads to the corresponding 2-acylamino-1,3,4-oxadiazoles. An extensive DFT study is reported to elucidate the proposed reaction mechanism and to compare the three possible inherent routes: (i) the reversible three-atom side-chain ring-degenerate BKR, (ii) the ring contraction-ring expansion route (RCRE), and (iii) the one…
Catumaxomab: a bispecific trifunctional antibody.
2009
The trifunctional bispecific monoclonal antibody catumaxomab has two binding specificities directed at epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) and the T-cell antigen CD3. With its Fc-fragment, catumaxomab additionally binds accessory cells such as dendritic cells, macrophages and natural killer cells. The trifunctional approach thus leads to unrestricted but specific killing of epithelial tumor cells by major histocompatibility complex without the need for preactivation or external costimulation. The tumor-associated antigen EpCAM is strongly expressed in carcinomas of various origins including colon, rectum, ovarian, gastric, esophagus, lung, pancreas, breast and head and neck. Expressio…
Méthode : 21 can…
Computed tomography imaging needs for novel transcatheter tricuspid valve repair and replacement therapies
2020
Abstract Transcatheter tricuspid valve therapies are an emerging field in structural heart interventions due to the rising number of patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation and the high risk for surgical treatment. Computed tomography (CT) allows exact measurements of the annular plane, evaluation of adjacent structures, assessment of the access route, and can also be used to identify optimal fluoroscopic projection planes to enhance periprocedural imaging. This review provides an overview of current transcatheter tricuspid valve repair and replacement therapies and to what extent CT can support these interventions.
Synthesis and inhibitory activity of dimethylamino-chalcone derivatives on the induction of nitric oxide synthase.
2002
A series of nine dimethylamino-chalcone derivatives (1,3-diaryl-propenones) was synthesized and screened as potential inhibitors of NO and PGE(2) production in the RAW 264.7 macrophage cell line. 4-Dimethylamino-2',5'-dimethoxychalcone (6) was found to be the most potent and dual inhibitor (IC(50s) in the submicromolar range) of NO and PGE(2) production. 2',6'-Dimethoxylation appeared to be an effective requirement for selective and potent inhibition of nitric oxide synthase induction as it was confirmed by Western blot analysis. Chalcone (6) at 25 mg kg(-1) by oral route, inhibited significantly the formation of oedema in the carrageenan-induced model of inflammation in mice.
Apport d'un formalisme psychologique à la modélisation des préférences individuelles. Application aux choix d'itinéraires pédestres
2007
With the increasing need for a sustainable mobility, pedestrian movement analysis lately increased. In an attempt to get a more detailed knowledge of urban pedestrian movement, we intend to model the pedestrian's route choices. Our first approach is based on simple economic models, the discrete choice models. A psychological theory is added in the process in order to improve the pedestrian behaviour simulation. Results show that psychological formalisms are useful for individual choices' modelling. For this reason they could be used more systematically in the framework of urban mobility
Preclinical models for colonic absorption, application to controlled release formulation development.
2018
Oral controlled release (CR) formulations have many benefits and have become a valuable resource for the local and systemic administration of drugs. The most important characteristic of these pharmaceutical products is that drug absorption occurs mainly in the colon. Therefore, this review analyses the physiological and physicochemical features that may affect an orally administered CR product, as well as the different strategies to develop a CR dosage form and the methods used to evaluate the formulation efficacy. The models available to study the intestinal permeability and their applicability to colonic permeability determinations are also discussed.
An algorithm for the Rural Postman problem on a directed graph
1986
The Directed Rural Postman Problem (DRPP) is a general case of the Chinese Postman Problem where a subset of the set of arcs of a given directed graph is ‘required’ to be traversed at minimum cost. If this subset does not form a weakly connected graph but forms a number of disconnected components the problem is NP-Complete, and is also a generalization of the asymmetric Travelling Salesman Problem. In this paper we present a branch and bound algorithm for the exact solution of the DRPP based on bounds computed from Lagrangean Relaxation (with shortest spanning arborescence sub-problems) and on the fathoming of some of the tree nodes by the solution of minimum cost flow problems. Computation…
