Central idempotents and units in rational group algebras of alternating groups

Let ℚAn be the group algebra of the alternating group over the rationals. By exploiting the theory of Young tableaux, we give an explicit description of the minimal central idempotents of ℚAn. As an application we construct finitely many generators for a subgroup of finite index in the centre of the group of units of ℚAn.
BARGAINING WITH COMMITMENT UNDER AN UNCERTAIN DEADLINE

We consider an infinite horizon bargaining game in which a deadline can arise with positive probability and where players possess an endogenous commitment device. We show that for any truncation of the game, the equilibrium agreement can only take place if the deadline arises within this finite horizon. Since the deadline is an uncertain event, the equilibrium exhibits agreements which are delayed with positive probability.

The Effect of Credit Rating Events on the Emerging CDS Market

We document the cross-border spillover impact of S&P sovereign credit rating events on sovereign CDS using an extensive sample of emerging economies. First, we find on average a competition (imitation) effect of downgrades (upgrades) among emerging portfolios. Results confirms that non-event portfolios responds positively to credit deteriorations in terms of an improvement in sovereign credit risk. Second, the sovereign credit risk of non-event countries within the same portfolio benefit (suffer) from downgrades (upgrades). Mechanical fastening is a popular choice in joining composites because of the ability to transfer high loads and the ease of assembly and disassembly. In this study, the failure behavior of composite–aluminum single lap bolted joint is investigated. In particular, the effects of varying the preload on the bolt are examined. Abstract This paper constructs the equilibrium for a specific code that can be seen as a “universal grammar” in a class of common interest Sender–Receiver games where players communicate through a noisy channel. We propose a Senderʼs signaling strategy which does not depend on either the game payoffs or the initial probability distribution. The Receiverʼs strategy partitions the set of possible sequences into subsets, with a single action assignment to each of them. AbstractMalware analysis is a task of utmost importance in cyber-security. Two approaches exist for malware analysis: static and dynamic. Modern malware uses an abundance of techniques to evade both dynamic and static analysis tools. Current dynamic analysis solutions either make modifications to the running malware or use a higher privilege component that does the actual analysis. Feedback linearization control of wind turbine equipped with doubly fed induction generator

This paper focuses on several control techniques of a wind turbine of rated power of about 1 MW. In particular, a wind generator equipped with an asynchronous doubly-fed induction machine has been considered and its dynamic model in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment has been implemented. Starting from this model the feedback linearization control has been derived, and several simulations have been carried out, with the aim of compare its dynamic performances with the classical field oriented control, and with the V/f control. The results allow us to conclude that a DFIG controlled by a feedback linearization technique ensures better dynamic performance.
