Chiral symmetry in the KḰ and kn systems

In this talk we present teh results of recent developments in the aplication of Chiral perturbation theory to the KḰ system and to de K+N →KNπ reaction close to threshosd. In the first case, we study the decay channels of the a0 and f0 mesons assumed to be made largely from KḰ. In the second case comparison is made with the present data. Acid Catalysis with Alkane/Water Microdroplets in Ionic Liquids

Ionic liquids are composed of an organic cation and a highly delocalized perfluorinated anion, which remain tight to each other and neutral across the extended liquid framework. Here we show that n-alkanes in millimolar amounts enable a sufficient ion charge separation to release the innate acidity of the ionic liquid and catalyze the industrially relevant alkylation of phenol, after generating homogeneous, self-stabilized, and surfactant-free microdroplets (1–5 μm). Tris(benzene-1,2-dithiolate)molybdenum(VI) reacts rapidly and quantitatively with tetrabutylammonium hydroxide to yield the corresponding Mo(V) and Mo(IV) complexes and hydrogen peroxide; the reaction has been executed in dry tetrahydrofuran where the reaction rate shows a fair dependence on complex and OH2 concentrations. Synthesis of Tetrastilbenylmethanes by Wittig−Horner Reactions

The all-(E)-configured tetrastilbenylmethanes 3a−e and 5a,b can be obtained by fourfold Wittig−Horner reactions. The tetrahedral arrangement of these compounds guarantees independent stilbenoid chromophores with a high chromophore density. Apart from (E)/(Z) isomerization reactions, irradiation leads to a three-dimensional network with isolated unchanged stilbene units. (© Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Organization and expression of the chum salmon insulin-like growth factor II gene

AbstractIGF-II plays an important role in growth and development of vertebrates. In the present study, the characterization of the first fish IGF-II gene, chum salmon IGF-II, is described. The sIGF-II gene consists of four exons, spanning a region of 9 kbp, that encode the 214 aa IGF-II precursor. While the amino acid sequences of fully processed IGF-II of salmon and mammalian species are very similar, the prepro-peptide sequence deviates extensively in the signal- and E-peptide domains. Using uidA (beta-glucuronidase; GUS) reporter gene constructs, the 5'-untranslated region (UTR) of the Chlamydomonas chloroplast rbcL gene was screened by deletion and mutational analysis for the presence of a promoter element that previous studies implied to reside within the first 63 base pairs of the UTR. Deleting a large segment of the rbcL 5'UTR in a 3'--5' direction to position +36, changing the remaining 36 base pairs at the 5' end of the UTR, and increasing by five base pairs the distance between the rbcL 5'UTR and the basic promoter element located at position -10 did not abolish transcription from the basic rbcL promoter. Complete sequence of HSP70 cDNA from the mussel, Mytilus galloprovincialis was established before quantifying its expression following moderate heat shock or injection of heat-killed bacteria. HSP70 cDNA is comprised of 2378 bp including one ORF of 654 aa, with a predicted 70 bp 5'-UTR and a 343 bp 3'-UTR (GenBank, 18 Jan 05, AY861684). Alignment identity ranged from 89% for Crassostrea ariakensis to 72% for C. virginica. Curiously, HSP70 gene and cDNA sequences from M. galloprovincialis, deposited later (03 and 27 May), show only 73% identity with the present sequence. HMGA1 is a member of a small family of architectural transcription factors involved in the coordinate assembly of multiprotein complexes referred to as enhanceosomes. In addition to their role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and development, high-mobility group proteins of the A type (HMGA) family members behave as transforming protoncogenes either in vitro or in animal models. Ievads: Vakcinācija būtiski samazinājusi daudzu nopietnu slimību izplatību pasaulē. Lai gan priekšlaikus dzimuši zīdaiņi ir vairāk jutīgi pret infekcijām, viņu vakcinācija bieži vien tiek atlikta vai arī veikta pēc atvieglinātas programmas. Tā kā imunizācija Latvijā nav obligāta, ir nepieciešams pētījums, kurš ļaus atklāt aktuālas vakcinācijas tendences un faktorus, kas varētu uzlabot vakcinācijas pārklājumu. Mērķis: Šī pētījuma mērķis bija vakcināciju tendenču salīdzinājums priekšlaikus un laikā dzimušiem bērniem ar anonīmas vecāku aptauju. Tāpēc valstis visā pasaulē ieviesa jaunus valdības ierobežojumus. Šī iemesla dēļ sejas masku nēsāšana un vakcinācija pret koronavīrusu pagājušajā gadā kļuva par universālu tematu. Tas radīja jaunas dažādas nevēlamas ādas reakcijas un ādas izskata izmaiņas. Mērķis: Šī pētījuma mērķis bija novērtēt sejas masku un vakcinācijas izraisītās blakusparādības uz ādas un ieteikt profilaksi.
