This study aimed to characterise pressurised hot water (PHW) extracts from nonconventional sources of functional carbohydrates and phenolic compounds in terms of antioxidant capacity, antiviral activity, toxicity, and human erythrocytes’ protection antidiabetic potential. PHW extracts of Norway spruce bark (E1 + E2) and Birch sawdust (E3 + E4) contained mostly galactoglucomannan and glucuronoxylan. In contrast, samples E5 to E9 PHW extracted from Norway spruce, and Scots pine bark are rich sources of phenolic compounds. We report synergistic PDT/chemotherapy with integrated tandem Fenton reactions mediated by ovalbumin encapsulation for improved in vivo anticancer therapy via an enhanced reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation mechanism. W celu nadania właściwości hydrofilowych, które powinny ułatwić rozkład odpadów w środowisku naturalnym, przeprowadzono szczepienie PE-LD kwasem itakonowym (KI) wobec nadtlenku dikumylu (DCP). Proces realizowano dwuetapowo w wytłaczarce jednoślimakowej, stosując różne stężenia KI (3—10% mas.) i DCP (do 1,1% mas.). Metodą pirolitycznej chromatografiigazowej (Py/GC/MS) zidentyfikowano produkty termicznego rozkładu KI. Macrophages play a major role in the immune system, both as antimicrobial effector cells and as immunoregulatory cells, which induce, suppress or modulate adaptive immune responses. These key aspects of macrophage biology are fundamentally driven by the phenotype of macrophage arginine metabolism that is prevalent in an evolving or ongoing immune response.
