As a part of an extensive project for the evaluation of the Finnish comprehensive school, a recently developed reading comprehension measure; a hierarchy-rating test, and a more conventional multiple-choice task were used to assess reading comprehension skills in population-based samples of 2,891 sixth-graders (12‐13 years old) and 1,953 (15‐16 years old) ninth-graders. The hierarchy-rating task was constructed within the theoretical framework proposed by W. Kintsch and van Dijk (1978). La dislexia en la edad adulta afecta alrededor del 4% de la población. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo es analizar los aspectos metodológicos, así como los temas de investigación, acerca de la dislexia en población adulta. A partir de una búsqueda bibliográfica en la base de datos del Psychological Abstracts: PsycoINFO, se identifican y seleccionan los trabajos sobre los que se centra la revisión. Los resultados indican respecto a la metodología que la mayoría de estudios emplean métodos cuantitativos de investigación (59.4%), frente al 5.7% que emplea métodos cualitativos. Physical activity and sedentary time in relation to academic achievement in children

Objectives To investigate the independent and combined associations of objectively measured moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and sedentary time (ST) with reading and arithmetic skills. Design Cross-sectional/prospective. Methods Participants were 89 boys and 69 girls aged 6–8 years. MVPA and ST were measured using a combined heart rate and movement sensor and body fat percentage by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry in Grade 1. Diplomdarba autores pieredze liecina, ka salīdzinoši neliels pētījumu skaits Latvijā veikts saistībā ar skolēnu lasītpratības mērījumiem svešvalodā. No otras puses, līdzīgi pētījumi ik gadu tiek veikti un ir zināmi kā starptautiskie lasītprasmes novērtēšanas pētījumi (PIRLS), kur tiek noteiktas lasīšanas spējas sākumskolas skolēniem. Taču oficiālu datu par kopējo lasītprasmes līmeni pusaudžiem, lasot svešvalodā, ir nepietiekami. Tā kā svešvalodas apguve ir saistīta ar dzimtās valodas izpratni, tiek uzsvērta metakognitīvā pieeja un kā viena no metakognitīvām stratēģijām minēti ir lasīšanas detektīvi. Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often have comorbid learning difficulties in reading comprehension, an essential skill in accessing any area of the curriculum. The aim of this systematic review is to analyze the effectiveness of reading comprehension interventions in students with ASD. We conducted a search for scientific articles published from 2000 to 2019 using the keyword “autis*” in combination with the terms “reading comprehension” and “intervention” or “instruction” in Psyc Info and Scopus databases.
