Childhood obesity may be responsible for a major alteration of life quality in children and in future adults. The causes of obesity are multiple and obesity results from a chronic imbalance between food intake and energy expenditure. The challenge is to understand the cause of this imbalance. Partendo dalla recente letteratura psicologica sui limiti dei processi decisionali, il presente contributo ripensa criticamente la diffusa convinzione secondo cui un’ampia possibilità di scelta è sempre vantaggiosa e desiderabile. In particolare sono esaminate le principali ragioni per le quali la sovrabbondanza di decisioni imposte all’individuo dalla società odierna può tradursi in una logorante “tirannia di troppa scelta”.

Šis bakalaura darbs pēta kohēzijas līmeni Maska un Mejas un Abes runās par komercdarbību. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt kohēzijas līdzekļu lietojumu runās par komercdarbību. Kā pētijuma metodes darbā izmantots literatūras apskats par dažādiem publicētajiem avotiem par leksisko un gramatisko kohēziju un biznesa diskursu, kā arī biežuma analīze. Leksiskās kohēzijas, atsauces, un saikļa klātbūtne tika analizēti trīs runās un trīs runās struktūras daļās. Analīzes rezultāti parādīja, ka iepriekš minēto kohēzijas līdzekļu izmantošanas biežums ir diezgan vienāds. Tomēr var secināt, ka saiklis ir visizplatītākais kohēzijas līdzeklis analizētajās runās par komercdarbību.

Intensified job demands (IJDs) originate in the general accelerated pace of society and ever-changing working conditions, which subject workers to increasing workloads and deadlines, constant planning and decision-making about one’s job and career, and the continual learning of new professional knowledge and skills. Challenge is a key motivation for videogame play. But what kind of challenge types videogames include, and which of them players prefer? This article answers the above questions by developing and validating Videogame Challenge Inventory (CHA), a psychometrically sound measurement for investigating players’ challenge preferences in videogames. Based on a comprehensive review of literature, we developed a 38-item version of CHA that was included in a social media user survey (N=813). One of the current objectives of different citrus breeding programmes is obtaining new pigmented mandarins. This study investigates to what extent consumer preferences, expectations and purchase intention are affected by the appearance of new mandarins, specifically pulp pigmentation intensity. Four hundred consumers from both Italy and Spain (800 in all) participated in the study. In each country, half were informed about the healthy properties of the anthocyanins responsible for red pulp colouration, while the other half were not. Šajā darbā tiek pētīta kultūras atsauču atveide audiovizuālajos tulkojumos (AVT). Šajā pētījumā tiek izmantotas lingvistiskā satura analīze, kontrastīvā analīze un multimodālā diskursa analīze. Pētījuma korpusu veido kultūras atsauces, atklātas animācijas filmās "Šreks". Atsauces tika iedalītas reālajās un intertekstuālajās atsaucēs. Korpusa izpēte parādīja, ka animācijas filmās "Šreks" atrodamo kultūras atsauču atveidē izmantotas 14 tulkošanas stratēģijas, no kurām visbiežāk tika izmantotas svītrošanas, adaptācijas un vispārināšanas stratēģijas.
