Boosting organizational learning through team-based talent management: what is the evidence from large Spanish firms?

Talent management (TM) can crucially help optimize organizational learning (OL) processes. The aim of this article is to study whether certain TM practices related to teamwork design and dynamics stimulate and develop learning (i.e. knowledge creation) processes within the organization and across the different ontological levels (individual, group and organizational–institutional). A model linking team-based TM and OL is tested in a sample of large Spanish companies. However, the literature on psychological stress barely distinguishes between these constructs. AbstractDynamic capabilities are central to firms' strategic decision-making and have received increasing attention in recent years due, in part, to the development of the information society. This research explores how web-based and human information sources interact and advance the development of dynamic capabilities. We use a mixed-methods approach executed in two studies. Study 1 reports insights gleaned from in-depth interviews with 12 senior managers. Study 2 provides the findings from a survey completed by 139 senior managers. Job resources and flow at work : modeling the relationship via latent growth curve and mixture model methodology

The aim of the present three-wave follow-up study (n = 335) among employees of an employment agency was to investigate the association between job resources and work-related flow utilizing both variable- and person-oriented approaches. In addition, emotional exhaustion was studied as a moderator of the job resources-flow relationship, and as a predictor of the development of job resources and flow. Gains and losses related to career transitions within organisations

Abstract With this study we aim to look at potential gains and losses in terms of higher career satisfaction and increased strain levels as a consequence of intraorganisational upward career transitions. Following the idea of a matching principle, we further expected stressors to mediate the relationship between transitions and strain, and resources to mediate the relationship between transitions and career satisfaction. Altogether, N = 581 employees from 11 German organisations filled in an online questionnaire twice, with a time lag of one year. Received: 15 January 2013 Abstract Accepted: 2 February 2013 The paper deals with the problem of Quality of Web Service (QoWS) in e-commerce Web servers, i.e. in retail Web stores. It concerns the admission control and scheduling algorithm for a Web server system, which aims at preventing the system from overload to provide high QoWS level and ultimately, to increase Web site’s conversion rate, i.e. to turn more visitors into customers. The sensitivity of the algorithm to changes in its basic parameter values was analyzed by using a simulation-based approach. Special attention was paid to evaluation of the parameter impact on conventional and business-related system performance metrics.
