The Norwegian Motion-Laboratory
2018
This paper contains an overview of the equipment currently available in the Norwegian Motion Laboratory, a description of the IT networking infrastructure in the laboratory, a GitHub link to open source code developed, description of the PyQt-based graphical user interface, presentation of robot forward and inverse kinematics, presentation of equations of motion for the suspended load motion and a description of the full system kinematics. The paper ends with a list of research experiments and publications from the laboratory to date.

Atdarinošās mašīnmācīšanās pielietojums robotikā
2022
Atdarinošā mašīnmācīšanās ir perspektīvs virziens robotikas uzdevumu risināšanas automatizācijā. Maģistra darbā veikts nozares pētniecības virzienu pārskats, un saskaņā ar tajā gūtajām atziņām izstrādāts risinājums motivējošam uzdevumam - metienu veikšanai ar industriālo robotroku. Teorētiskajā pārskatā vispirms sniegts vispārīgs ieskats ar darba tematiku saistītajos matemātiskajos formālismos, bet pēc tam atrasti galvenie virzieni nozares zinātniskajā literatūrā - trajektoriju kopēšana, novērojumu ieguve, modeļu vispārināšana - un iztirzāti galvenie sasniegumi katrā jomā. Praktiskā risinājuma ietvaros ar kustības uztveres sistēmu ierakstītas demonstrācijas, izveidota automātiska priekšapst…

The Slow Adoption Rate of Software Robotics in Accounting and Payroll Services and the Role of Resistance to Change in Innovation-Decision Process
2022
Robotic process automation (RPA) has by now for years been viewed as a disruptive innovation that will have a significant impact on accounting, HR and payroll services, and yet the rate of adopting the innovation has not reached a level anticipated in past predictions. As several elements have a negative impact on the organization’s rate of adopting RPA, passive resistance to change has a significant impact in the form of constant dithering. Resistance to change can emerge at any stage of the Innovation-Decision process and fluctuate throughout the continued adoption, causing wasted investments, capabilities and resources. peerReviewed

“It is better than working with a person” : Affective cues and responses to robots at work
2022
Robotic technologies are gaining popularity in various industries, and, by implication, academic research anticipates changes in occupations and work tasks, as well as in the labor market in general. In the future, human employees and robots will increasingly work side by side as coworkers. Despite growing interest, little is known about human employees’ experiences of working with robots, and particularly, their emotions toward robots. However, research has shown that emotions – that is, affective responses – play an important role in the use and adoption of technologies. To address this research gap, we conducted a qualitative questionnaire examining the emotions experienced by employees …
Yhteiskunnan digimurros
2021
“The biggest part of our digital transformation is changing the way we think.” — Simeon Preston, CEO of International Markets unit in Bupa.
Paediatric solid oral dosage forms for combination products: Improving in vitro swallowability of minitablets using binary mixtures with pellets
2023
There is a growing interest in determining and improving the acceptability of solid oral dosage forms (SODF) in paediatric populations. Combination products can be an interesting solution to combine two active pharmaceutical ingredients. This study shows that binary mixture of paediatric SODF could enhance formulation swallowability and palatability. Using the Paediatric Soft Robotic Tongue (PSRT) – an in vitro device inspired by the anatomy and physiology of 2-year-old children – we investigated the oral phase of swallowing of multi-particulate formulations, i.e., pellets (350 and 700 µm particles), minitablets (MTs, 1.8 mm), and their binary mixtures (BM), by measuring the oral swallowing…
