Protagonista el tren [Presentación]
1988
Root canal shaping of curved canals by Reciproc Blue system and Pro Taper Gold: A micro-computed tomographic study
2021
Background This study aimed to evaluate the centralization and transportation of ProTaper Gold (PTG) rotary system and Reciproc Blue (RB) reciprocating system in curved canals, by using micro-CT. Material and Methods Twenty extracted mandibular molars were previously scanned by using the SkyScan 1174 microtomograph to select the Vertucci IV anatomic type. The specimens were divided into two groups (n=10) according to the mechanized system used to prepare the root canals. The teeth were scanned by micro-CT to calculate the increase volume, percentage of dentin removed, remaining dentin thickness, structure model index (SMI), degree of transportation and centering ability of root canals. The …
Stereoselective Synthesis of Microcarpalide
2002
The first total synthesis of the naturally occurring nonenolide, microcarpalide, is described. The key step in the synthesis was the ring-closing metathesis of a dienic ester prepared in turn by coupling an acid and an alcohol stereoselectively synthesized from (S,S)-tartaric acid and (R)-glycidol, respectively. Organic salts and aromatic substrates in two-component gel phase formation: the study of properties and release processes
2015
To identify gel phases able to act as confined reaction media or materials for the removal of organic pollutants, we studied two-component gel phases formed by naphthalenedisulfonate diimidazolium salts in the presence of some organic guests, in 1-propanol solution. Guests differing in π-surface area, bulkiness and electronic properties were taken into account. Soft materials obtained were investigated for their thermal stability, self-repairing ability and morphology. Furthermore, two-component gel phase formation was studied using resonance light scattering (RLS) measurements. Guest release processes from the gel phase were also studied. These processes were monitored as a function of tim…
A hydrated crystalline calcium carbonate phase: Calcium carbonate hemihydrate.
2019
Hydrous CaCO 3 gets a new structure Calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ) forms important minerals on Earth and is a model system for understanding crystal nucleation. Three different structures of CaCO 3 are known, along with two structures that are hydrated. Zou et al. found a third hydrated CaCO 3 structure formed from amorphous CaCO 3 in the presence of magnesium ions. The discovery illustrates the importance of amorphous precursors for producing new materials. Science , this issue p. 396
Oxygen evolution reaction on a N-doped Co0.5-terminated Co3O4 (001) surface
2020
The project AP05131211 “First principles investigation on catalytic properties of N-doped Co3O4.” was funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The work was partly supported by COST (European Cooperation in science and Technology) Action 18234 (YM and EK). The work of T. Inerbaev was performed under the state assignment of Sobolev Institute of Geology and Mineralogy Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. YM and EK thank Sun-to-Chem project of ERA Net.

Rodents are most useful models to study physiological and pathophysiological processes in early development, because they are born in a relatively immature state. However, only few techniques are available to monitor non-invasively heart frequency and respiratory rate in neonatal rodents without restraining or hindering access to the animal. Here we describe experimental procedures that allow monitoring of heart frequency by electrocardiography (ECG) and breathing rate with a piezoelectric transducer (PZT) element without hindering access to the animal. These techniques can be easily installed and are used in the present study in unrestrained awake and anesthetized neonatal C57/Bl6 mice and…
Multiplicity of Radial Ground States for the Scalar Curvature Equation Without Reciprocal Symmetry
2022
AbstractWe study existence and multiplicity of positive ground states for the scalar curvature equation $$\begin{aligned} \varDelta u+ K(|x|)\, u^{\frac{n+2}{n-2}}=0, \quad x\in {{\mathbb {R}}}^n\,, \quad n>2, \end{aligned}$$ Δ u + K ( | x | ) u n + 2 n - 2 = 0 , x ∈ R n , n > 2 , when the function $$K:{{\mathbb {R}}}^+\rightarrow {{\mathbb {R}}}^+$$ K : R + → R + is bounded above and below by two positive constants, i.e. $$0<\underline{K} \le K(r) \le \overline{K}$$ 0 < K ̲ ≤ K ( r ) ≤ K ¯ for every $$r > 0$$ r > 0 , it is decreasing in $$(0,{{{\mathcal {R}}}})$$ ( 0 , R ) and increasing in $$({{{\mathcal {R}}}},+\infty )$$ ( R , + ∞ ) for a certain $${{{\mathcal {R}}}}&g…
Extended causal modeling to assess Partial Directed Coherence in multiple time series with significant instantaneous interactions.
2010
The Partial Directed Coherence (PDC) and its generalized formulation (gPDC) are popular tools for investigating, in the frequency domain, the concept of Granger causality among multivariate (MV) time series. PDC and gPDC are formalized in terms of the coefficients of an MV autoregressive (MVAR) model which describes only the lagged effects among the time series and forsakes instantaneous effects. However, instantaneous effects are known to affect linear parametric modeling, and are likely to occur in experimental time series. In this study, we investigate the impact on the assessment of frequency domain causality of excluding instantaneous effects from the model underlying PDC evaluation. M…
Brominated flame retardants and toxic elements in the meat and liver of red deer (Cervus elaphus), wild boar (Sus scrofa), and moose (Alces alces) fr…
2017
In order to evaluate the contamination status of terrestrial biota in Latvia, muscle and liver tissues of red deer (Cervus elaphus), wild boar (Sus scrofa), and moose (Alces alces) were analyzed for the content of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD), tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA), as well as cadmium and lead. The highest mean concentrations of PBDEs (46.6pgg-1 wet weight (w.w.)), cadmium (0.95mgkg-1 w.w.), and lead (0.22mgkg-1 w.w.) were observed in the tissues of moose, while the wild boar samples contained the highest levels of HBCD, with the mean concentration equal to 264pgg-1 w.w. in muscle tissues. Generally low mean concentrations of TBBPA from 0.52 t…
