Pięć kroków pastoralnego nawrócenia
2020
Synthesis and crystal structure of Na1+xV4P4O17(OH) (x ≈ 1.44)
1990
Abstract Hydrothermal synthesis starting from Na0.46VOPO4 · 1.58H2O leads to a new mixed-valence sodium vanadium phosphate: Na2.44V4P4O17(OH) (orthorhombic, space group Pnma; Z = 4; a = 13.723(5) A, b = 6.314(2) A, c = 16.139(4) A; R = 0.032 for 2659 reflections). In this phase, the interconnection of three complex types of infinite chains, built from VO6 octahedra and PO4 tetrahedra, sometimes edgeshared, defines tunnels partly occupied by a portion of the sodium atoms.
A Co2O2 metallacycle exclusively supported by l-valine
2008
Abstract [Co2(OH)2( l -valine)4]·2.5H2O has been prepared under hydrothermal conditions and constitutes the first example of a [Co2O2] core supported exclusively by aminoacids. This synthetic dimetallic model for redox active metalloenzymes is one of the few binary aminoacid compounds of biologically relevant metal ions that has been structurally characterized, showing the possibilities of this synthetic approach for preparation of models in bioinorganic chemistry.
Hydrothermal liquefaction of waste biomass in stirred reactors: One step forward to the integral valorization of municipal sludge
2020
Abstract Hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) of municipal sludge (MS) was performed at 350 °C for 30 min (subcritical water) and at 400 °C for 0 min (supercritical water) at fixed kinetic severity (LogR0 = 8.9) in static and stirred batch reactors to study the effect of the flow regime on the energy recovery (ER) of the process and on the quality of the products. With adopted experimental procedures it was possible to reduce to less than 10% the yield of lost organic compounds, termed volatiles (VT), and to collect and quantify a liquid hydrocarbon fraction (HC) separated from the biocrude (BC). The highest value of the HC yield, 25% w/w, was obtained in supercritical conditions. The C content …
Calculation of the molecular masses of two newly synthesized thermostable enzymes isolated from thermophilic microorganisms
1995
Two thermostable enzymes synthesized by thermophilic microorganisms were isolated and purified. A thermostable beta-galactosidase was produced in a continuous fermentation process by Bacillus stearothermophilus TP 32 as an intracellular enzyme. After applying different concentration procedures the raw extract enzyme was prepurified on a Sephadex G-200 size exclusion column. The isolated beta-galactosidase fraction was then separated with HPLC on a TSK G 3000 SW size exclusion column to determine the molecular mass based on calibration curves of standard proteins. The other enzyme, a thermostable protease, was synthesized by Bacillus stearothermophilus TP 26 as an extracellular enzyme. After…
Determination of volatile fatty acids in the hot springs of Vulcano, Aeolian Islands, Italy
1998
Abstract Samples of relatively acid hydrothermal fluids were collected in the spring of 1996 from seeps, springs, and wells on the Island of Vulcano in the southern Tyrrhenian Sea and analyzed for volatile fatty acids 1 using liquid chromatography. Concentrations of VFAs in the seeps were in the range 65–140 ppb formic, 133–184 ppb acetic, and
Synthesis and characterisation of polymeric manganese and zinc 5-hydroxyisophthalates
2001
Abstract The crystallisation of 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid with divalent Mn or with Mn or Zn and either 2,2-bipyridine (2,2-bipy) or pyridine-2-(1H-pyrazol-3-yl) gave solids of composition [Mn(C8H4O5)(H2O)3]·2H2O (1), [Mn(C8H4O5)(2,2′-bipy)]·H2O (2), [Mn2(C8H4O5)2(C8H7N3)2]·H2O (3) and [Zn(C8H4O5)(2,2′-bipy)] (4). Each compound has 1D co-ordinative chains that are connected by hydrogen bonds. Compounds 2–4 contain M2C2O4 rings with pseudo-chair geometries. The Mn atoms in 2 are coupled antiferromagnetically.
Hexacyanocobaltate(III) Anions as Precursors of Co(II)−Ni(II) Cyano-Bridged Multidimensional Assemblies: Hydrothermal Syntheses, Crystal and Powder …
2005
Three novel cyanide-bridged heterobimetallic coordination polymers have been synthesized by hydrothermal routes, in superheated water solutions, by using K3[Co(CN)6], NiCl2.6H2O, and alpha-diimine ligands: [Ni(CN)4Co(phen)] (1; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), [Ni(CN)4Co(2,2'-bipy)] (2; 2,2'-bipy = 2,2'-bipyiridine), and [Ni(CN)4Co(2,2'-bipy)2] (3). The isostructural compounds 1 and 2 contain a two-dimensional network with Co(II) centers octahedrally coordinated by one chelating 2,2'-bipy ligand and four cyanide groups of four distinct [Ni(CN)4]2-, through crystallographically equivalent, bridging units. Compound 3 contains one-dimensional zigzag chains in which the Co(II) ion is coordinated by…
Novel cuprous oxide morphologies using amino acids and carboxylic acids as structure directing agents in a simple hydrothermal method
2021
Abstract The reactivity and catalytic performance of cuprous oxide (Cu2O) particles rely on the size and morphology of the Cu2O crystals. In this study, a facile and mild hydrothermal route is applied to generate novel uniform cuprous oxide microcrystals, using non-toxic and low-cost carboxylic acids (O,O-type) and amino acids (N,O-type) as structure directing agents. N,O-type complexing agents showed a higher ability to reduce the copper species compared to the O,O-type ligands. Using oxalate and citrate complexes, pure Cu2O was obtained after 4 h at 200 °C, whereas the oxalate-based complex leads to the morphology of uniformly stepped microcubes, the citrate complex as precursor leads to …
Hydrothermal ageing of radiation cured epoxy resin-polyether sulfone blends as matrices for structural composites
2010
Abstract The hydrothermal ageing of epoxy–thermoplastic blends, used as matrices for carbon fibre composites, cured by electron beam, has been studied. Two different thermoplastic percentages have been adopted. A suitable choice of both curing process and formulation parameters allows to carry out irradiation at mild temperature with several advantages, coming from a “non thermal” process, for both the final properties of the materials and the environment. Nevertheless the occurring of vitrification phenomena needs the use of a short thermal treatment after irradiation on the already solid materials, in order to complete the cure reactions. Radiation cured epoxy based matrices have been sub…
