Maahanmuuttajataustainen oppilas ja natiivioppilas kollaboratiivisissa tehtävätilanteissa

2016

Yhteistoiminnallinen oppimateriaali alakoulun valmistavaan opetukseen

2015

Tukiainen, Mirka. 2015. Harjoituksista on…

Mikä merkitys osallistujan taustatekijöillä on menestymiseen kielitestissä?

2016

Yleisiin kielitutkintojen kielitesteihin osallistuu vuosittain vajaa 9000 henkilöä eri syiden vuoksi.

Genetic variability at αs2-casein gene in Girgentana dairy goat breed

2014

Casein genes are highly polymorphic and the high degree of variability has qualitative and quantitative effects on milk composition thereby affecting chemical, physical and technological properties of goat milk. The aim of this work was to evaluate the genetic polymorphisms of the αs2-casein (CSN1S2) gene in the endangered Girgentana dairy goat breed in order to assess the genotypes distribution, as it is known genotype influences technological and nutritional milk properties. The study was performed on 207 sample of Girgentana goat breed, analysed with different PCR protocols. The most frequent alleles was A (0.722), followed by F (0.225), C (0.051) and E (0.002) while B, D and 0 alleles w…

Photoluminescence properties of S2 molecule trapped in Melanophlogite

2015

We studied the photoluminescence properties of a sample of SiO2-clathrate Melanophlogite, a crystalline microporous material which is found in nature as a rare mineral. Upon β irradiation, the material displays an intense light emission under near-UV illumination. We studied in detail this optical activity by steady-state and time-resolved photoluminescence measurements as a function of temperature. The spectroscopic properties we find can be ascribed to a population of quasi-free molecules trapped within each of the two different types of cage available in the structure of this clathrate, although the spectroscopic properties of the guest molecules are affected by their interactions with t…

ReALity

Understanding how biological systems maintain long-term stability is the central theme of this initiative. We seek to understand how complex cellular systems react and adapt to existential threats of intrinsic and environmental origins and maintain homeostasis to promote longevity." Why do some people stand stably in their lives, while others are struggling with every day's burden and sometimes even develop mental disease? Why do some individuals maintain mental flexibility into old age, while others are locked in rigid behaviors early in their lives or rapidly develop dementia as they get older? Why is the lifetime incidence of cancer high in some species, while the disease is virtually un…

Mainz Institute of Multiscale Modeling

Computational methods and data-driven modeling have become indispensable tools across the sciences. The highly interdisciplinary Mainz Institute for Multiscale Modeling brings together researchers from different areas in natural and life sciences with researchers in mathematics and computer science. Our research follows two main thrusts: developing multiscale models informed by simulation and experiment, and pushing the boundaries of computational methods. M3ODEL has been established in July 2019 as one of the Top-level Research Area funded through the Research Initiative of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, and aims to facilitate and connect computational and modeling-oriented research ac…

The Center for Taste and Food Sciences (CSGA)

The CSGA is structured into 10 research teams, the ChemoSens platform (IBiSA certified, ISO9001) and a technical platform as well as research support services. The CSGA has about 200 staff members, including 133 permanent staff (researchers, teacher-researchers, physicians, engineers, technicians and support staff) and about 60 non-permanent staff (fixed-term contracts, PhD students, post-doctoral fellows, trainees). The CSGA project is part of the general theme of the study of eating behavior, its regulation and consequences on well-being and health. The general objective is a better understanding of the physicochemical, biological and psychological mechanisms underlying sensory perception…

Morphology and Molecules in Animal Systematics

Our studies concentrate mainly on solving the problems of the phylogenetic relationships among insects at various taxonomic levels in Hemiptera and Lepidoptera using morphological and molecular characters. A prediction of the secondary structures of mitochondrial and nuclear ribosomal DNA sequences is also used in the phylogenetic analyses. Next year, our team will get another science lab (the Bioinformatic Methods of Agrocenoses Analysis Laboratory) in a new building of the University of Opole. The laboratory equipment will broaden our interest in molecular genetic studies of non-model organisms, i.e., insect crop-pests and invasive species. Moreover, it will also allow starting the resear…

Reproductive Medicine

Infertility, or the inability to conceive a child, is a medical condition recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) that causes serious health problems for affected women, as well as significant epidemiological and sociological repercussions for society. It is estimated that this condition affects 15% of couples worldwide, with its incidence increasing, affecting 10% of couples who want to conceive their first child and between 10-25% of those who want to have a second child. The European Parliament's report on the future demographic of Europe (2007/2156 (INI)) highlights the need to consider infertility as a sensitive and important issue for consideration in articles 25 and 26. The…
