Czy na pewno UT SUPRA? Sylwetka duchowa św. Jana z Kęt w parenetycznej narracji Fabiana Birkowskiego

Artykuł stanowi próbę rekonstrukcji duchowej sylwetki św. Jana z Kęt, jaka wyłania się z poświęconej mu łacińskiej mowy Fabiana Birkowskiego. W swojej literackiej narracji XVII-wieczny kaznodzieja odwołuje się m.in. do mających stanowić życiową dewizę średniowiecznego profesora słów Ut supra. Przypisywanie Janowi z Kęt powyższego wyrażenia było jednak błędem. Jak wykazane zostaje w niniejszym tekście, wynikał on z niewłaściwego odczytania wspomnianych słów podczas lektury tłumaczenia Kroniki Macieja Miechowity, które Piotr Skarga dołączył do Żywotu świętego. Błąd ten jest o tyle istotny, że popełnili go również inni twórcy, przez co słowa te wpisały się w dzieje kultu krakowskiego profesora.

Święty Rajmund z Penyafort nie jest współcześnie w Polsce postacią powszechnie znaną. Podobnie było w okresie staropolskim, kiedy to popularnością cieszył się jedynie w dość wąskich kręgach. Niewątpliwie znany był on wówczas w środowisku Wydziału Prawa Akademii Krakowskiej, gdzie katedra opracowanych przez niego Dekretałów Grzegorza IX, przewidziana w akcie fundacyjnym wydanym przez Kazimierza Wielkiego, przetrwała aż do reformy kołłątajowskiej. Unique continuation results for certain generalized ray transforms of symmetric tensor fields

Let $I_{m}$ denote the Euclidean ray transform acting on compactly supported symmetric $m$-tensor field distributions $f$, and $I_{m}^{*}$ be its formal $L^2$ adjoint. We study a unique continuation result for the normal operator $N_{m}=I_{m}^{*}I_{m}$. More precisely, we show that if $N_{m}$ vanishes to infinite order at a point $x_0$ and if the Saint-Venant operator $W$ acting on $f$ vanishes on an open set containing $x_0$, then $f$ is a potential tensor field. This generalizes two recent works of Ilmavirta and M\"onkk\"onen who proved such unique continuation results for the ray transform of functions and vector fields/1-forms. Cette note concerne l’exceptionnelle plaque-boucle au Christ cavalier de l’Apocalypse découverte à Ladoix-Serrigny et étudiée précédemment dans cette revue. Son objectif est de discuter l’hypothèse récemment émise selon laquelle saint Landelin, qui a vécu au VIIe siècle dans le nord de la Gaule, serait Landelinus, l’auteur de cet objet. Plusieurs arguments militent en faveur de cette interprétation qui nous paraît donc plausible, même si elle reste fragile. N-Cinnamoyltetraketide Derivatives from the Leaves of Toussaintia orientalis

Seven N-cinnamoyltetraketides (1−7), including the new Ztoussaintine E (2), toussaintine F (6), and toussaintine G (7), were isolated from the methanol extract of the leaves of Toussaintia orientalis using column chromatography and HPLC. The configurations of E-toussaintine E (1) and toussaintines A (3) and D (5) are revised based on single-crystal X-ray diffraction data from racemic crystals. Both the crude methanol extract and the isolated constituents exhibit antimycobacterial activities (MIC 83.3−107.7 μM) against the H37Rv strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
